For guys in Europe, is the DX220Max still available?

Also, anybody used Verite Closed with it? Thinking of getting this combo, so any impression will be great!
mine arrived this morning and the Italian distributor still has more than one ...

Thanks for introducing me to this album, and artist, it is fantastic!

You are welcome. I recently discovered him "once more". Back then, for me he was the great bass player accompanying the great Paco de Lucia. Then I was listening to one interview about Paco and noticed how he was talking about Paco's music, so decided to check him and shock! He is way beyond being just the bass player in the back. I didn't properly check his other albums yet, as this album is so well made that I could not stop listening to it. :) Apparently he already had a solo career as he was playing with Paco. And I like how he shows "I play the bass, man". So cool! He used to play the "Entre dos Aguas" intro at the concerts. And I like how Paco used to give space to those amazing musicians around him.

Sorry guys, couldn't hold myself... Now back to MAX. :)

Number #309 just arrived!

Am very impressed so far. This is really giving the DX228 Ultimate mod a run for it's money. Can't wait for after burn in.

Is it supposed to get pretty warm when just playing MP3's on shuffle with DC charger plugged in? Seems much hotter on that side. Has been on 5+ hrs straight without the case
Temp drops right away when unplugged. That can't be good

I have made a Y splitter to charge DAC and Amp units in 1 wire. Then run it straight from a LPSU (Linear Power Supply Unit) 12V. The DAC only charges slowly with the 12V though

Strangely, the LPSU when compared to stock one has no noises When charge and listen together. I am not sure why but that is that

I am going to buy the IFI charger 15V to use at the office and have this Y splitter carried with me. Will see how it goes

So how hot are you guys finding it getting with the DC charger plugged in? Mine seems to get really hot, way hotter then the DX220 ever did.Only gets that hot when that charger is plugged in otherwise it's just warm.

This normal?

You meant the Amp charger ? Yes, it gets hot. It charges faster and also take in higher voltage than the DAC. It also has the thermal putty from it main chips and related components toward the chassis to help dissipate the heats

The main unit charges just as similar to the dx220

Ok Thanks. Yeah it gets warm more like a desktop amp, just wanted to be sure it was normal. I'm going to baby this thing for a long time.

Finally I get something close to 18V (20V supplied by USB PD).

Making sure I’m seeing 20V here:

This is what I see after plugging in the adapter:F318A321-671C-46B3-8943-0115608CFB25.jpeg

What I see from the stock charger:5F5E5B80-1032-4B18-ABEB-040E49A51A46.jpeg

Okay looks like I’m good to go now. This Energiemax Type C to DC adaptor seems to require a 75W charger so I also got one from them. I tried to use a 45W USB PD charger and that couldn’t even activate the adapter.

I don't understand. So you have an adapter that gets the 20 volts from the PD reduced to near 18 volts?

From a Y you are able to get 5 volts for the charging of the Dac battery and 18 for the charging of the amp batteries?

Yes, that's basically what this adapter does. Sorry I may not have been clear in my first picture: that 20V is actually the what the input of the adapter sees (measured with the adapter plugged in).
