AMP8 is 6.2 volts and does 1.2 watts into 32 ohms.

Ah, thanks for that, for some reason I recalled it being 9Vrms. I was hoping for more power here, Kann Cube levels. May be enough still, depends a bit on what I settle on for transportable use headphones wise.

Will the stock amp be in alignment (or an improvement) with the Amp8 EX available in the Group Buy? I plan to buy the Max when it is released, but I don't want to spend for the extra amp if it is redundant.

I know most people don't care, but since there a few testers abroad, what processor is being used? I really don't what to spend $2,000 for the same chip inside the 200/220/160.

I don't think the processor would be updated, as it is not a simple thing to do, as long as there is no drop in replacement for it. Even A&K for the $3500 SP2000 didn't update their processor. I think if it was being updated, it would be at the headlines of the advertisements for DX220M.

I frankly don't think that the processor is much of an issue on the existing DAPs, why should it be a problem on the DX220M?

Buy a USB HDD and connect it via OTG. Any iBasso DAP I tried works with my WD My Passport HDDs in 2-4TB range. I see no reason why it shouldn't work with WD My Book 10TB as well, which you can grab now for less than $200.
