I don't know about using it as a DAC for gaming, but as to my feelings about it as a DAP.... If you can accept its quirks or issues, there is no better in its price range. IMO I think to get much better sound, you would have to move way up in the price scale, and the diminishing returns are very large above this DAP. There ARE better options out there, but again, you will have to spend a lot more, and you might only get about 10% better for sound quality/power, etc... I may be biased though, because I really love my DX160, and before 2019 I came from the Fiio products (X5, and X3 gen 2).Sorry if this has been covered previously. I am interested in a dx160 and part of its use will be USB dac with my w10 pc. I currently have a dx90 which has a large audio delay when in USB dac mode which is fine for music playback, but useless for gaming etc. Does the dx160 have a delay? Is this a decent option or is a dedicated desktop dac and amp a better idea? What is the general feeling towards the dx160 as a dap these days? Are there better options? Cheers

Hi. What's the consensus of opinion regarding the noticeable delay after pressing track forward. Is iBasso going to fix it with a firmware update? I'm using Sandisk cards and never had this problem with FiiO DAPs with the exact same discs.

I would do a reset. Mine moves along at a fairly fast pace.Hi. What's the consensus of opinion regarding the noticeable delay after pressing track forward. Is iBasso going to fix it with a firmware update?
Thanks. How do you do a reset? I've only had it a week!
I have the problem of delayed playback on my BT connection of the DX160 2020, but it was fine in the 2019 version I owned.
This is direct. No BT involved. Just slow compared to every FiiO Android DAP I've ever owned, and that's a few.

Closest step up is the M11 Pro from what I've tried.I don't know about using it as a DAC for gaming, but as to my feelings about it as a DAP.... I'm using mango mode with Lurker's modded firmware. No delays. Not sure about the mango player on android. This is direct. No BT involved. Just slow compared to every FiiO Android DAP I've ever owned, and that's a few.
Thanks. Can't say it's much quicker, but it's only when you are "Channel Hopping" that's it's noticeable. I've got to say, I've come from an M11 Pro and FH7's and always found it harsh. I much prefer the DX160, even with my temporary TIN HiFi T2's I'm using. Listening to Kraftwerk's Radioactivity, there seems to be no loss of detail for the extra warmth.
I'm looking for some IEM's for about £250 that is a bit warmer than neutral with bass that is north of neutral. Suggestions welcome.

The DX160 doesn't use the current gen of processors, so it will be a bit slower than some of the DAPs that do use current processors. With that being said, I don't have any issues while just skipping around tracks and what-not.Thanks. Can't say it's much quicker, but it's only when you are "Channel Hopping" that's it's noticeable. To reset the device, it is in the options menu (just like any other android device). Options > System > Reset options > Erase all data (Factory reset)...

It doesn’t take that long for me at all. I don’t know if you’re being dramatic or realistic. If you’re realistic and if it took you really 40mins for that then there must be something wrong with your unit. I agree with the dx160 being not fast and all. That’s why I create playlists on my phone (Apple music, Amazon) and just download it to my dx160.I'm finding working with it on amazon music trying to create playlists etc it is soul crushingly slow. Took about 40 minutes to make one 8 song playlist for offline. Did the same on phone in about 3 minutes...

Took 40 minutes, timed it. A lot of that where track wouldn't add, then after repeated attempts ended on the list multiple times. Then took an age to remove the duplicates and rinse and repeat. Thanks. I've done that but didn't make a difference. I've only had it for 5 days, so it shouldn't have needed it. I've never had a delay like this even with the FiiO X5iii, so you can't blame it on the processor. It must be a firmware issue.
It's Mango player. I've just loaded Hiby and the track skipping is instantaneous. So please iBasso, fix Mango.

Wonder what’s wrong. Cos that’s not what I’m experiencing with my Dx160. You could probably try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. Btw, did you use Play store or apk to download the App ? If thru apk, try out different apk versions or better use play store to download the app.Took 40 minutes, timed it.
