As many know, I have been really enjoying my DX 160, with my iems. However, I discovered a killer pairing with my Sony MDR-1A over ear portable full sized cans. This pairing sounds extremely good, and oh my that bass hits hard, and the stage is huge.

I have the Sony MDR1AM2 for DJ duties, hadn't thought about trying them with the DX-160.On my Laptop, they do have excellent bass compared to my studio AKG K361 which are flatter as expected.AKG 361 has excellent detail retrieval and a much wider soundstage.

Damn, my MDR-1A broke last year (Left side cut out) before i got the DX160. Although i use a pair of MDR-1AM2 and they sound great together.

Do you know that feeling.... When you drop something precious on a tile floor.??? :astonished:

Today was a the day for the DX160. Stood up from my chair and toke the wire with me.
Bang! on the floor with not such a nice noise.

The moment when you expect worst.... And come to the conclusion there is no scratch or damage at all.... And that with a bare device...

Let's call it Sunday luck.... Pfewww

And can't live without with these crazy times at the moment.

I like it better without the case. It just looks and feels better, but the volume knob is too easy to change, and the buttons too easy to accidentally press. There arent any cases I really like for this, so I'll just stick with the stock case, though I dont know if it would protect it from impact. It seems more for scratches.

Glad yours lived through the trauma (and you too...heh)

Hi Everyone, considering buying on of these DAPs here in NZ. Just wondering if the main wifi bugs and other issues have been sorted yet with the latest firmware updates? If not then I'll pick up the R5... pairing it with the Fearless S8 Pros - thanks for your help

If wireless connection is your priority , recommend r5.. i chose dx160 for better sound.. i use spotify also but the experience is only average since the wifi does disconnect sometimes, not frequent but it does happen on latest firmware.
It annoy me but not at level that i refrain from using it, just most of file i play is FLAC from local storage and SD card.

Nice! I still prefer the 1A to the 1AM2, but imagine the m2 would sound good with the DX160, as well.

I was hoping anyone could help me out with a couple of issues:

Just got a used from the forums and Google |Play will crash almost instantly when I try to open it. Any idea what's the problem?

Secondly, the device while charging gets quite hot. Is this normal? (fast charger used)

what software version are you on? If i were you.i'd re-install latest firmware via local update method and reset the device and apps.

The device should get warm when charging, not HOT!!! make sure you're using the correct charger.

Hmm.. The dx160 is qc 3.0 certified so some fast chargers work with it. It would only be dangerous if you charge it with those crazy 50W chargers

I dont recommend using Quick charge for your dap or phone for that matter, because the battery will wear out much faster and therefore also get less usage time per charge. Especially if you plan to use it for a long time and not switch after one year.

I wouldn't worry that much

I wouldn't worry that much that's Quickcharge reduces lifespan.
First it's easy to replace if that's needed.

Second it's better to charge till 80% instead of full each time.

And you can hook up a 100 watt charger it only "takes" what's needed. All locked up in the kernel.
