nobody? i like the sound of my ak100II wondering if the ibasso dx150 will sound better or not

I have both and enjoy the II but the DX150 is much more versatile, much more powerful (the balanced is a joke on the AK100II) and does better in general (musically more layered, better bass etc. ).

does it have a warm sound like the ak100ii? thats what i liked about it also is stock amp best for headphones such as the LCD-XC i will be using portable amp as well Cayin c5 for now

Not sure about the LCD-XC. But I have a DX150 and a pair of Hifiman HE560's the Amp 6 drives them fine.

That is a really hard question to answer because everybody will consider warm and too warm differently. But I would definitely say it is on the warmer side of neutral but not super warm. Again that is also going to change with different headphones too.

According to reviews and impressions the DX150 does seem to have a warmer tonality and not analytical so you should be good

thats good then i had a Fiio x5 v1 and dont get me wrong sound good but was analytical/slighlty COLD i didnt like that as much as the Cowon p1 was somewhat smoother not quite as cold then got the Ak100ii i liked its warmness somewhat better

I have used only iBasso DX80, DX90 only in the past and my experience has been great. I shall be receiving my DX150 in a few days so I can let you know via PM how they sound to me. I guess a lot depends on the pairing of headphones/IEMs as well.

The DX150 is a little warmer sounding than the DX200. It has a nice touch of warmth but not too much. I would not describe it as a cold sounding dap.

Okay so I bit the bullet and ordered myself a DX150, I also ordered a pair of it01s and a 2.5mm cable. I got them in blue & red. I wasn't going to get the it01s because I do have the seeds BUT I couldn't help myself...

So you got the it01 not the it01s? Because the newer it01s comes with a balanced cable so depending on what you spent on the balanced cable many have said the it01s is better than the it01. I had the it01s and really liked them but decided to return them and my r3 and put the funds towards the dx150 since I had aquired an he560. So my westone w10s are suitable for now but I really want to get the it01s again or even jump to the it04.

sorry, I mean the it01, non balanced cable version. I settled on it because everywhere I read, say its a real good entry at that point. I think it should be good for my needs and hopefully the cable does it justice too. I couldn't justify the S due to it being 2x as much as the original.
