This is the problem i have

The lurker firmware instruction
5. say conect dx150 then install driver
9. restart computer after driver is installed
13. conect dx150 again before using batch tool

what lurker firmware instruction say
is to conect the dx150 a second time
but it dont say when to disconect it

Can dx150 be disconected
before reboot pc after installing driver.

Ibasso official firmware should have allowed google play store

I was decided on getting IBasso Dx150 but is not aceptable
that a unit advertised as android unit dont let you install Google play store
which is needed to install poweramp and neutron music app.
That solution offered to manual install APK files is not good
because i have purchased several themes for poweramp i want to use and need Google play store
to get them installed.

I asked Paul and he was kind to respond to me
that i could use lurker firmware to get google play store installed
unfortunaly installing the firmware seemed complicated to me

The instruction was not clear when to disconect the Dx150 player
so i asked Paul but paul did not find the answer, I asked then Lurker
because i need to know when to disconect the dx150 before i conect it again

I dont like the answer i got
I need help but i dont get help from lurker
so this is how ibasso are for those that want to purchase

Every DAP has Pros and Cons. In case of DX150, they don't advertise it supporting Google Play store and very clear about a need to side load apk files, the same way it's with DX200. Many are OK with it. Lurker's FW is optimization of iBasso official FW with a bonus of Google Play, and it does require a few extra steps which many are OK with as well. I do understand your frustation, some who are not savy with flashing smartphone ROM might find this challenging (even so I think Lurker's instructions are pretty clear, and English is not even his first language thus some replies might get lost in translation). Also, keep in mind, Lurker doesn't charge for his custom FW, it offered free on "as is" basis, as a favor to Head-fi community. Give it another try, see if others on the forum can offer their help/suggestion. If everything else fails, maybe it is a good idea to seek another DAP which offers Google Play out of the box?

DX150 is quickly becoming my favorite DAP

Maybe it's the Empire Ears pairing but stuff is seriously awesome.

This DX150>LX setup is totally satisfying my basshead demon. :D

If you have the batch tool installed then all you need now is the DX150 if you are going to use it. It isn't hard and works well. Lurker offers his modifications for free and from what I have seen, and I use it now, it works well and he has done a lot of work. It is free. You can't expect him to offer individual help, this is free! I for one appreciate and have over the years, the work that he has done. It isn't often you get an expert like this that will continue to offer free firmware modifications that work really well.

------

On another note, I have the IT04 here and have since the show I helped with in NYC and the combination of the IT04 and the DX150 is so much fun and the musical quality so good that each day is like a new day of music. It just doesn't get old. Great stuff here!

I dont like the answer i got
I do firmware mods in my spare time, as a hobby. Even if I can answer some questions, I prefer to do it in the forum, to write it only once, and let other people to find and read my answers. Also, here in the forum there are lots of experienced people that help new users. You may don't like it, but it is as it is :)

You may also consider searching DX200 thread, because basically DX150 is the same. I remember, there were many explanations on how to flash firmware using FactoryTool.

I assume you were able to install Factory Batch Tool (download link with instructions you quoted above are here) and you downloaded Lurker's latest DX150 fw (for windows, you need DX150FirmwareV2.9.250-L0.zip file from here). Once you load it and run the update, you should get confirmation with Successful install. At that point, disconnect DX150, turn the power on, and wait for it to do all the updates automatically. Takes about 5min and it's all done.

hehe yes I have no Dx150 yet but I am looking around to see what i be upto
when i get dx150 which can be in June for summer.
I was worried that the flashing process is complicated

what i mean is if i should disconect the player right before reboot pc, before flash tools is used
this i ask because the instruction say conect the Dx200 again, to conect it again i asume it must be disconected before
or else i would not need to conect it again, is already conected
that is why it look so complicated
and i need google play store

Dude, so all these posts because you are anticipating of having a problem when you going to receive DX150 and will try the update the fw?!? Bro, that's major trolling :p The update is easy, you got lots of people here to help you, and Lurker fw is solid. Come back when you have DX150 in your hands and stop worrying

I can go and buy something else
i was never welcome in the ibasso forum
People have done a lot to try and help but you don't even have the dap yet so you only have half the equation. You may be happier with something else though and there are many brands on the market.

How much welcome do you suppose your posts have earned? You're whining before you even have anything to whine about. And now you whine about folk not liking your whining. You can be characterized by one word. Care to guess which word that is?
