The DX100 has a special program written for it to utilize 24/194, bypassing the restriction of 16/44. It can also, if you want to, upsample 16/44, though I don't like upsampling but it is your option, which is nice.

Ok but what about 24/96? I heard it can't play this natively? I would mainly be using 24/96 as that is much more mainstream and portable opposed to 24/192 (big waste of pace :p).

I'm pretty sure that what John ment was that this special program handles alle resolutions up to 24/192 not just 24/192

It handles, bit for bit all the way up to 24/192 and anything between. I have some music at 24/192 and look forward to enjoying it portable as I am often in quiet places that the quality of higher resolution can come through.

Thank you. Money well spent then. AFAIK the Hifiman 601/602/801 all downsample right? I guess the fact that they can play them back is not bad. But at the price premiums they charge they really need to do better still... Maybe ibasso will coerce them into lowering prices and improving quality and features. :)

Is this info from iBasso team?! Or just a humble opinion?

there are some pictures of unboxing in page 1,2,and 3 of this thread. The charger looks pretty big. I think it is the same size as the PB2. if I have to carry this around on trips, I'll just buy a New Trent Dual Port 5000mah back up battery.

HM-801 plays 24/48 and 24/96 natively without downsampling (however a number of 24/96 files it introduces loud background hiss, this happens on about 25% of my 24/96 files and has been confirmed by Fang as a compatibility problem of the HM-801). It does not play 24/88 or anything higher than 24/96 at all. As a usb dac it only accepts 24/48 in. I think it is the same for HM-60X but I can't remember for sure

Don't bother with the pictures in that thread. The pictures are very badly taken. It will only make you feel very, very disappointed in the product...

Do they really ship N American cords to everyone, even orders within China itself? I find that surprising.

I just wish this was a bit cheaper,...and I hope they have a user replaceable battery inside. That means it'll be upgradable in the near future,...I'm not fond of carrying battery packs around. I carry too much when I move about already.

As for my posting the link to the RMAA testing, that was about the clip/+ and such, NOT about the DX100. Some erroniously linked it to it, and that's a crock of crap. I fully expect this to be quite a spectacular sounding player.

And if you doubt the validity of testing, then you really don't practice what you preach. Don't spew facts & technobabble, then deny the testing - you make yourselves out to be blind wanna-be audiophile fanboi's. Too funny,...LOL!!!
