I haven't listened to the DX100 for about 2 weeks, just so I could get accustomed to some other daps. Coming back to it makes me realize how resolving and musical it is. Such nice transparency, imaging and air, IMO.

I agree. The DX100 is one super fine DAP and I think it will be really tough for even the AK120 to overthrow the DX100 based on sound quality alone.

I

I still prefer them improving the dx100 than spending R&D on another device

800usd is not easy upgrade at least for me

in terms of UI, 1.4.2 is already snappy, but I'm anticipating for the release of the API even only to a few developer eg. poweramp, gonemad. I installed gonemad and its gui is very good. iBasso should also share the EQ curves to the developer to bring sound signature presets like figgie stated earlier

I really like for ibasso to have a good battery upgrade for the dx100 eg samsung

as for the battery pack, there are some model that support the dx100 plus the standard 5v. Anker i think

I have the Anker 10,000mA.  It works very well for the DX100 AND charges my phone too.  A single charger for both devices that I always carry around.  It has 2 USB outputs (one will do 2.1A for those devices that need it) + a port than can be either 9v or 12v (12v for the DX100).  The model is the Astro3 (http://www.amazon.com/Anker-10000mAh-Multi-voltage-External-Portable/dp/B005NGKR54/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1368968441&sr=8-2&keywords=anker+10000)

Hi, Søren. I can see that you have beside your dx100 the headphone that looks like DT990. How does it go with DX100?

That's the DT770 Anniversary Edition and they do quite well with the DX100. Haven't tried the DT990, I'm afraid.

Edit: And thanks for getting my name right!

Now I can confirm DAP alone without external amp. DX100 is still the most referenced within 801,901,dx100 and ak120. I am waiting to see what DX50 can do

iBasso did change the sound signature a bit starting 1.3.5 till 1.4.2 :)

Will try them when I get one back:) I didn't hear too much difference between 1.2.7 and 1.3.5 probably a bit more bass emphasis on 1.3.5
