I'm still waiting for my delivery, i am getting pissed off now!

I ordered this thing as soon as they came into stock 8.15am UK time on Monday, and yet my tracking still only shows "Shipment information received"

Ibasso don't seem that worried about it/me!

Have you tried contacting them directly?

iBasso DX100 has arrived for me. I'm just loading music onto it.

First off, I'm impressed with the packaging. The box is sexy, the warranty card is nice and shiny. Even the cables look like worthy accessories for the asking price. Finally I feel like I've bought into a high end product! Nice quality feel to the whole package.

The DX100 is thicker than what I was prepared for. It's the size of my HM-801. I guess it's proportions look more normal compared to the HM-801 so maybe that's what threw me off.

It came with the battery 99% charged.

I shall report back later. I've got work for the next 12 hours.

I sincerely hope the rest of the DX100's don't get delayed much further. I feel incredibly lucky to slip through before those weather conditions kicked in. The wait will be worth it Surfer1000!

surfer1000, I think it goes into sorting before it leaves the country. Same thing happened to me. Thankfully it looks like it's on it's way. Update number 7 for me was in my local area so shouldn't be too long now hopefully!

It has to be! I'm glad it turned out not as bad as initially expected. My DX100 was apparently picked up by the courier at 8:08 this morning, and I stayed up waiting by the door all day till it was delivered at 4:30pm (I work nightshifts so I should've been sleeping). If I would've missed it and it went back to the depot, I would've had to wait until Monday morning so no way was I going to let that happen!

Thats just typical of couriers, they seem to have a sixth sence, when your busting your balls to get hold of something, they always deliver it near the end of the day!

.....but it's nice to hear youve got yours, what format you using for your music ?

On another note...why are HD tracks so expensive, they seem to be about $25 for an album!

My very first DAP was an Archos Jukebox, now that was thick and heavy!

Mine was an Archos 504 with 160GB hdd. It was awesome and lasted me a while. Similar bulk, heh.

I'm mainly using flac files, with some mp3's thrown in there. It seems to transfer at 7mb per second so the going is pretty slow. I have to leave for work :psoon... can't wait to start listening!

One of things that you may notice is how well the DX100 sounds from 16/44 files. There are times I have to look at the screen to check what resolution  im listening to.

You could enable SRC to fix the bit rate of the songs.
Upsampling isn't really the same as master downsampled to 24/192 though. Having said that whether the master was created at a high sampling rate or done on analogue is a different matter & beyond the scope of this thread.

I tend to rip my SACDs & downsample to 24/192. Most (if not all?) of my SACDs come from masters back from the 50's - 70's.

I sent some comments to ibasso requesting:
A D12 follow up using the DAC/Amp in the DX100 aimed at people who can't afford the dx100 but want something better than the D12. I think there's a substantial price gap between the D12 and the DX100 for anyone looking for a high end portable DAC/Amp combination device. It makes sense to fill it IMO.

I suggested that they should consider a DX100 follow-up with something like a 4.8" screen to make it into a more viable all in one device to replace their desktop DAPs (i.e. the notebook) so it's easier to navigate through (potentially) 120gb of music, making/browsing playlists etc. Once ICS is more widespread, I think it will look better on a 4.8" screen compared to a 3.75" screen and also be more functional on the larger screen.

Lastly, I said that implementing tactile media playback keys on the side would be a useful feature with some people seeing it as a deal breaker when shopping for a PMP.

Anyone got any input/thoughts on any of the above being useful (as a consumer) or viable (from ibasso's standpoint)?
