The Elite will make you spin

Lol, I hope so.

Ok got the Elite and I'm in the minority here, but I actually think DC07PRO sounds better, actually even macaron. Great mids, bass and expansive soundstage but not enough treble energy for me. My hearing in the upper registers needs some extra treble, and this doesn't deliver for me personally.

Now you can say let it burn in, but I only have a limited time I can get a refund, so I have to go buy first impressions. I did run it some overnight. Same problem I has with nunchuka AB mode and ru7, They all sound fantastic but in my case I've got to have sonething hot in the treble or things sound muffled. So far dc07 pro has been pretty natural sounding and with forward treble, maybe cause the mids are thinner. Macaron is hotter like dc04/06 03.

It sucks, I take it as a combination or hearing damage over the years and old age. I also have my EQ set to max on 4k and 8k I don't bother doing 16 as I can't hear it. Over the years my goofy handle has become true.

Try a different transducer, IEM or headphone. Most of these dongles at this price level are essentially flat from 20-20kHz. You may have an impedance matching issue though but I doubt anyone can hear a +/- 0.25db difference if its even that much in your hearing range of up to 16kHz.

iBasso DC Elite or Nunchaku or iFi Go Kensei? I am looking for something to replace the Cayin RU-6 ... too much interference when text messages or calls come in while using it. Pairing with 64 Audio Tia Fourte and Fatfreq Scarlet Mini.

If you mostly listen to iems- DC Elite.
If you have over ears- ONYX Alpha XL1

I’ve been nervous about possible strain on the usb c port when pocketing my dc-elite stack and I think I found the solution interconnect wise. Time will tell how durable this cable is, but I’m liking the form factor of the low profile, flat cable.

Good afternoon to everyone . I watched some reviews of Ibasso DC Elite which is very praised and even compared in quality with DAPs for 2000 dollars. How strange, considering that 4.4mm output power is 280mW and for comparison Ibasso dx 180 4.4mm output power is 690mw and it costs only 500 euros. Please give me advice as for beginner, which of these two devices gives the best sound quality and has more potential to play such headphones as Focal Radiance, Fostex TH-900 MK2 and ZMF Atrium?
