I have recently purchased a 2 year old iBasso D10 from another person, and is confused about the op amps choices.

The op-amp currently in the D10 is the AD8532.

In the kit, i can see 2 AD8656, 1 AD8532, 1 AD8541 and 2 others whose lettering have faded away and i cannot make out what they are.

I have a few questions:
1) What is the original op-amp in the D10?
2) Any ideas what the 2 unidentified ones might be?
3) Which are the better sounding ones?

The D10 default opamps are: ADA4841-2 on L/R, AD8532*2 on Buffer.
inside the rolling kit: AD8656*2, LMH6643*2, dummy adapter*2.

The LMH6643 is typically used as buffers, however it does sound nice in the D10 L/R with bypassed buffers (dummies).

Ron, my info was from their site. But on this picture, it clearly shows the defaults as you pointed out.

Well, mine is probably from the older batch, since i have the receipt from 2009. The op-amp i'm using, AD8532, sounds rather nice from my meelec M11+. However, any suggested op-amps to go with my soon to come 1964-T, which is described as a neutral, darker sounding custom?

I have a long listing of various opamp/buffer impressions about a third of the way down the page here... http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/399315/ibasso-d10-updates-1st-page-with-current-opamp-choices-by-hiflight-images-page-1-12-13-14-15-21-71/3975

The AD8532 is most commonly used as a buffer.  If you use it in the L/R, I would suggest bypassing the buffer socket, as the 8532 can output 250 ma and can easily overpower a buffer.

Is that how the overpowering works? Granted I don't actually know how iBasso has their buffer structure set up, but wouldn't it just feed a voltage signal into the buffer?

Cool. I'll play around with op amp choices more once i receive my customs. One last question, how does the D10 stand when compared against the latest crop of portable dac/amp, portable amp units?
