You can connect your Kann Ultra only via USB to D16 and use D16 DAC-AMP
There's no analogue amplification option in D16.
You can check out PB5 for such a scenario

The PB5 is pretty amazing, but the D16 is the real value IMHO. It doesn't need the PB5 to shine.

Also I am curious if anyone has some kind of technical sheet or manual... really anything besides that silly hard to read card it comes with. They couldn't have picked a worse font/background combo. I am curious about firmware updates as well.

Tried both D16 and PB5. Sounds like underpowered with my LCD5.

ALO Studio-Six TUBE Amp with LCD5 sounds better.

PL HP Int Amp, tube with 11 W available going through HP route sounds the best out of the other three units. Listening without EQ needed.

Added EQ hardware to Studio-Six sounds more authority...but not the same as PL HP IA tube amp....

So, conclusion is my LCD5 sounds much more dynamic than others...

Don't have Holo DAC...

Use dac inside Esoteric K5 CD, SACD player which is AKM but either Dual or Quad DAC design...

With Studio-Six Amp connected with PL tube dac Evo 100 model with a CD Transport...

Still have to connect a Terminator DAC to two systems above or New ZMF Aegis tube amp coming this week.

Just got my D16 & PB5 today. Newbie here.
Few questions:
1) my PB5 won't turn on but with blinking blue light means it's ran out of battery? The tubes don't even light up!
2) charging PB5 is the blue LED light light up without blinking, is it under charging mode?

3) D16 got clinking noise when play with Apple music, anything wrong?
4) what's the small knob and the big knob on the D16?

Big knob = analog volume

I charged up my PB5 now it's running fine...damn good holographic sound I really like!
The issue with the clicking sounds is due to the provided USB C cable, I now use Brise Audio USB C cable no more such issues.
Ibasso is really no joke! I owned quite a number of good quality DAC/amps and their D16 DAC plus PB5 combo is among the best setup I heard so far! I'm using Audio Technica ATH-IEX1 iems & I really love the sound!

For me, I don't care. It is the sound that matters and the D16 is excellent sounding, great depth, width, separation and dynamics. And easy to use. I was able to compare it to the Hugo 2 and easily prefer the D16. Natural true sound is what I enjoy.

How does it compared to the DX 320?

Have any of you guys heard the Onix Mystic XP1?

It costs the same as the D16, but hasn't gotten near as much attention. (It is quite different in terms of DAC architecture though).
