I would like some opinions of the FOTM phones here (for better or worse) over the last few years...chronologically???

The V-Moda Vibes were all the rage about a year and a half ago. Despite putting them through some break in via a day's worth of pink noise, I found the sound rather muddy. Some $15 Creative EP-630s that I purchased shortly after blew them away in terms of clarity...but they were pretty!

Based on FOTM I am pleased to announce I just purchased the LD Mk III, although I have no idea how good they are because they are somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (or customs at San Pedro).
Against the FOTM of the time (SE530) I purchased the UM2 and could not be happier.
So, sometimes the FOTM is right, sometimes is also right, and occasionally is wrong...did I get that right?

Congrats on the purchase. Hmm Zero DAC/AMP? Darkvoice 336, 332?

I went with the FOTM and bought Ultrasone HFI-680's, Ultrasone Proline 2500's and the Zero DAC. Still have the HFI 680's and the Zero and will keep them

You can't forget the Darth Vaders, I have not purchased them but I'm alwasys tempted because of the wook finish, but I remind myself that its sound quality that counts.

I remember when the K-701 came out and people went nuts. I held off for a good year before buying one. I've come to enjoy it enough. Might have to give it a listen tonight.
