I've only listened to IEMs my entire life. I've had many cheap earbuds, cheap IEMs, and a handful of nice IEMs. From the list of nice IEMs are the Triple-Fi 10's, Westone UM3X, and the Earsonics SM3 v2's. Out of the 3, I absolutely love the SM3s. I don't know what it is about them that I love, but I love them. I don't know much about low's, mids, highs, etc, but I know I like clarity and vocals that seem to be just up in my face (sound stage)?

I was blessed enough to meet a local audiophile with a pair of AKG 701's and I loved them! They were the first pair of headphones I've listened to (besides some crappy Beats) and really liked the sound so much that now I am thinking about diving into the full-sized headphone world.

I am debating between...

AKG 702

Sennheiser HD650

Removeable cable is a must, and I will be driving them with a Fiio E17 through a Sony Walkman Z or my laptop (will this be sufficient for either headphone)?

Which headphone would be best suited for me?

I most commonly listen to Trance, Hip-Hop, Rap (Eminem) and songs with vocals (Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, etc.)
