I just came across something so lathered in snake oil that i had to take a shower.

So i came across a thread about vacuum tubes on another site and this guy was saying how little difference there were between tube types in his amp, but then proceeded to tell the other guy what made a huge difference was by upgrading the fuses in his components by "Synergitstic Research Orange Fuses". You read that right.... fuses. A quick search found these fuses cost $159 each. here is the description on their website.

SR Black Fuses encompass our latest understanding of passive Quantum Inductive Coupling and are our most powerful fuses to date. In addition to a proprietary conditioning process followed by a 1,000,000 volt signal we call Quantum Tunneling that alters conductive pathways within the burn wire, we add a Quantum Inductive Surface that includes Graphene to stabilize the electrical wave feeding your system for a dramatic improvement in system performance over standard and audio-grade fuses.

How fuses alter the sound of your system. For over one hundred years people believed electrons flowed like water through a pipe and that once ‘contaminated’ by miles of wire, there was little or nothing that could be done to ‘clean’ the electricity feeding your components. Consider this: the electricity feeding your system’s components first propagates through a single fuse. This is why significant gains in sound quality are possible when you insert an SR Black or Blue Fuses into each of your components.

Today physicists understand electrons don’t flow at all but rather propagate in a wave of energy that moves along a conductor with a multitude of factors that alters this wave at the quantum level. To understand how electricity travels without electrons ever leaving their respective atoms it is helpful to consider the spectator ‘wave’ at a football match. Even though you can clearly see a wave pattern moving from spectator to spectator as fans raise and then lower their hands (without hands jumping from one person to the next), so too does electricity ‘move’ without electrons ever leaving their atoms. At Synergistic Research we’ve isolated key factors that affect how electricity propagates by changing the behavior of electrons through Inductive Quantum Coupling methods we collectively call UEF Tech. In fact, UEF Tech is so powerful even an electrical chain several miles long is fundimentally improved with nothing more than a single fuse engineered with our patented UEF Technology.

Quantum Tunneling.... quantum inductive surface with graphene... quantum coupling....

These guys also sell power cables that cost $10,000 for 6 feet, plus $1,000 for each additional foot.... oh and speaker cables which cost $17,500 per pair and require a 5 day, 2-step burn in process.

The business of exploiting people's expectation and confirmation bias in the audio industry is really something out of control these days.

Oh, one last tidbit. I looked up the company Synergistic Research, and their address is a different company named Airwolf 3d printers. I may stop by next time i go to Frys electronics since its right down the street, lol.

Last time one of their "revolutionary" product was brought up, it did not end well for anybody https://www.head-fi.org/threads/synergistic-research-hot-device.744295/

About the explanation on the fuses, it's decoherent and we can feel the argument collapsing faster than a wave function as we read through it. All the signs of quantum mechanic in action.

I'm also guessing that it does everything they say it does, but only so long as you don't measure it.

Ahh.. that was definitely a while back. After looking up the products in the other thread, i had to take another shower. my water bill is going to be horrible this month. But don't get me wrong, i have great appreciation for high quality products but there is a point where it becomes a religion to some people.

I hit that limit ordering the parts for a new cable for my HD650's. I got sick of the cardas type plugs and the barrel ones on amazon and decided to buy the ones from Furutech. At just over 2x the price of the cardas plugs, and the Rhodium is a bit much... they definitely tease the limit of what im willing to spend money on. To compliment them, i bought a Viablue splitter and 3.5mm plug, and Viablue EPC-4 headphone cable. Not sure yet if im going to sleeve it. hasn't arrived yet. lol.

Ohhh... i see. So dude threatened to file a lawsuit because he said the silicon dioxide was a naturally occuring substance? And they claim theirs is man-made? hah. To file a lawsuit you have to show that the inaccurate claim caused harm to your company/brand/self. Even if he was inaccurate in his description of silicon dioxide, any harm done to his company would have had nothing to do with that and everything to do with selling snakeoil. I'm not saying his product doesn't work. It does what its intended most likely, and thats protecting equipment from over current. Everything else.... i'd love to see some proof of their claims.
