Doesn't it kind of defeat the point if you have to carry an amp around? I love my UE6000 but at 50ohms this is just to much even for the best smart phones on the market.. I have tried an I6 and own a HTC M8 ( the two best sounding smarthphones/tablets on the market ) and its no where near enough juice..

So yeah why UE decided to make a portable headphone that needs 50ohms is puzzling. My underrated noontec hammos are 32ohms and are PERFECT for these devices..

I do have a E17 that makes the 6000 sing but sometimes I just dont wanna carry all these cords and an amp even if small during my bike workouts.

What are some other power hungry PORTABLE headphones? just so I know what to stay away from for a workout set. ( obviously I should have paid attention to ohms more lol )

According to the measurements on innerfidelity, the UE6000 requires 0.053VRMS and 0.05mW to reach 90dB SPL.

In comparison, my SR125e (innerfidelity only has measurements for the i series, but they're pretty much the same) requires 0.104VRMS and 0.33mW to achieve the same SPL.

According to the measurements the SR125e is more power hungry than the UE6000, so it's interesting that your phone doesn't have enough power for your UE6000, because my SR125e is powered easily by my iPad 2, 1st gen iPod touch, and LG 306g phone.

By the way, the impedance alone doesn't tell you how power hungry a headphone is.
