I'm fresh to Head-Fi so here we go.

I bought the Sundara kind of on a whim as it was the only headphone in the store that I tried that both a 3.5mm jack and a bass (compared to the other popular choices) under a budget. Nowadays I've been listening to IEMs like the (OG black filter) KZ PR2 and had more enjoyment out of it than the Sundara because it has more bass, more treble, more fun but I still preferred the Sundara's open-back headphone nature because I can still hear myself and the environment which is great for gaming.

So recently, I got curious after listening to plenty of demos from Dan's Audio Reviews and comparing it see what IEM I might wanna get but its hard to tell the difference through demos anyway. So I got the idea to compare it myself with EqAPO especially with DSPs starting to appear more on IEMs. I went to VSG.Squig.link and AutoEQ'd my Sundara to match the QKZ x HBB Khan in EqAPO and found out it sounds AWESOME. Next I tried AutoEQ'ing Sundaras to the Monarch MK3 and it too sounded awesome but I preferred the Khan EQ in mostareas. So I merged them together. The Khan EQ with the Monarch3's mids (200hz-2000hz). Best of both worlds and it worked wonderfully but honestly slight difference from the Khan EQ for tracks without vocals.

I've also tried AutoEQ'ing the Sundaras to IEMs I own but they sounded terrible, probably because it isn't from the same VSG Squiglink.

Why isn't there an open-back planar that sounds like these? I haven't heard a single off the shelf bassy planar headphone like these EQ'd Sundaras which probably costs less than the ones that do exist.

Has anyone tried doing this? What do you think of my Hifiman Monarkhan EQ?

Note: If you're amp struggles to power the Sundaras this might end up being too quiet and not worth your time.

In EqAPO make a new Graphic equalizer with variable bands and paste this after pressing the edit text button. (I don't know how to share .txt files here, I'm very new)
