Sarda has the same purple shell color as the CE-5. I really hope it’s just the CE-5 with a new shell and different accessories, since I thought the CE-5 was better than both the TE-5B and TE-5T.

Nope, it sounds different! Heard it at the Tokyo headphone show! To my ears less v-shaped than the other Hyla products, more towards Oriolus style. But only listened to it for literally 3 minutes- so take my word with a grain of salt!

Did anyone get to listen to these yet? I see Zeppelin and Co. in SG has a demo unit now.

Any impressions out there in the wild or do I have to break my New Years Resolution and get the Sarda new?

Well @SeeSax you did catch me red handed. I tried hard to keep my New Years Resolution but failed. Since there were no Sarda impressions out there I had to purchase one from Musicteck to find out for myself. How is that for faulty reasoning. I have had them for a couple days so these are initial impressions.

They are comfortable and they are beautiful. That is all you need to know SeeSax :)

I purchased them because I love my TE5T and had a feeling they made these as an in-between from the bass of CE-5 and TE5B and the treble of TE5T. I plan to try a fellow Head-fiers TE5B soon so I can compare bass. They are warmer than the TE5T. They have a very similar treble. I like the mids of the TE5T but the mids of the Sarda are warmer and more forward. The notes of the Sarda are thicker than the TE5T.

The biggest difference is that the TE5T has some of the best sub bass I have ever heard. The Sarda has some of the best overall bass I have ever heard. It is a rumble not a thump. It is not at the Legend X level of course. The Sarda is balanced but in a very W signature way. Bass, mids and treble are warm and forward. Warm and forward seem odd but that is what I hear. So far I enjoy it very much. It is fun but not overwhelming. I am not a fan of V shaped IEMs and these are not V shaped.

Comparisons with current IEMs: The Sarda is warm but nothing compared to the warmth of the AAW Canary. The notes are thick but nothing compared to the thickness of notes of the Andro S or Andro MW10. They are detailed but not as detailed as the Katana. They are warmer than the NCM Bella V2 and more W shaped than the Bella V2.

I hope to soon be able to directly compare the Sarda to the TE5B.

Now back to my New Years Resolution ............
