I would ask Chord before doing that?Does anyone use the TT2 as a DAC with RCA unbalanced out to an amp and XLR balanced out to another amp? Any issues with having both connected?

Good, idea, I'll reach out. To be clear, I did not mean both amps running at the same time, but rather just connected at the same time.

An interview with John Franks about Bertti and Alto has been posted.
Chord seems to release a TT range streamer in the near future (skip to about 6:10)
He interestingly also talked about his idea of working with Rob and his 'less analog components is better' approach (skip to about 35:30) I could interpret it as hes not a fan of a DAC direct driving speakers concept. John (ofcourse) rather uses a chain of DAC > Pre > poweramp, naturally then also with extra interconnect cables.

Colin is one of my favorite people. I always look forward to sitting down and having a pint with him at shows.

Interview does make me wonder if Robs digital amps will ever be chord products.

I’d be up for a streamer if they released one, so long as its not like £8K, as it’s just a streamer. There should be no fancy dac inside, just something simple that streams info from A to external Dac. I’d pay £2k for one, not a penny more as at the end of the day it’s just a streamer.
John if you read this and if you are making a dedicated streamer, please make a good remote control to go along with it, not like the ones you use dave, tt2, hugo w etc, give us something nice, like say a sky q tv remote where you can speak in to it and get the song you want.

This morning I was thinking along the lines of put the key elements of the 2Go/2Yu on a single board, install inside a TT sized case, and add a touchscreen which often gets requested.I’d be up for a streamer if they released one, so long as its not like £8K, as it’s just a streamer. £2k i reckon for all that.
And should still accept SD Cards (or some other drive) - playing local files direct always sounds better to me than streamed over a network

Not so sure about that, as that just adds more to the price for people who don’t need an onboard dac or amp or bridge. Since there is speak of a TT streamer, personally if it’s just going to be a streamer I would be tempted. But if its something with a dac for headphone use, its not for me. I doubt it will have that as the TT range is all stackable, the TT2, MScaler, their amps and their strategy is to get people to buy the stackable setup.
As for 2yu, I’m sure chord can build a streamer thats not based off of 2go / 2yu, to be honest it would probably be easier to start a fresh and start from the ground up, but who knows.
One thing I Know that I won’t be doing is, if it’s just a bog standard streamer in a fancy aluminium case, there is no way I will spend £4k on it, as there is tons of streamers out there, cheap and expensive ones.
Yeah and it should be able to have a sd card slot or slots like the dude above says, 2 would be good, also 2 x usb 3 ports and possibly usb C port to future proof it. I hope they don’t use usb 2.0 ports.

@Reactcore thanks for sharing this

After long expirence with Poly and reading/hearing some early adopters horror stories of 2yu/2go it seems Chord haven't done their homework yet and they want to enter already dominated streamer market with IMHO very bad reputation as streamer vendor.
Personally I will stay away from their streamers for long time after Poly. Having already Lumin and Rockna WLS, while I really like Chord dacs and amps I fail to see a reason why I should buy potentially broken steamer from Chord. As for Poly I've fixed my issues with it by switching to A&K 3000T and couldn't be happier.
You’re assuming they’ve not learned from the Poly/2Go experience. Also, as it’s stationary you’ll most likely be able to hard wire it. My personal experience with 2Go/2Yu was flawless over Ethernet. It always worked. Always.@Reactcore thanks for sharing this

Maybe they’ve also looked around at Auralic, Innuos, Lumin, etc and employed proper app developers for a bespoke solution, moving us away from MConnect, iPeng and the like?
Damning it even before it’s officially announced seems premature. And let’s not forget that Poly and 2Go sound magnificent. So a bump into TT sound quality and a native app might turn out to be an incredibly good option for current TT users.

I also hope Chord doesn’t over price it.
Wonder if it will have HDMi ARC ?
Don’t know if you guys have seen the new Fiio streamer at a grand?
@AussieMick first of all honestly I don't get it why both Chord and its fans love all those "sandwiches" they call streamers, IMHO it is ill-fated example of bad engineering. Secondly I base my assumption on current Chord track of record: 2 on 2 = 100% so far. Hardware companies usually fall short in software and vice versa. Chord already demonstrated it on 100% of their streamer products therefore I feel I have a right to make such assumptions. You’re assuming they’ve not learned from the Poly/2Go experience. Secondly I think you missed my main point: those who needed streamer already got one, with introduction of M-Scaler and dedicated upsamples for Dave in future Chord can't put upsampling options into their streamer - one of few reasons one could consider buying it. The point is: Chord is entering crowded, strongly competitive market with very poor track of record. They need not one but probably a set of killer features require programming skills, something Chord fails constantly (remember issues with outdated certificate that disabled Poly upgrades? it's not even programming skill, it is infrastructure support skill).
At the same time Chord makes great dacs and amp and I think they should stick to that. I'm also happy for everyone who is happy about Poly and 2go/2yu and feel sorry for all of us for whom it didn't work.
But you are right, let's not get ahead of facts and wait for a product release. I will be more than happy to compare it against my Lumin and Rockna WLS and say it is superior to any of those. Will I bet on it, no since math is so far on my side but I'am openminded and I keep my fingers crossed for Chord.
