I really like this guy and his reviews and I like what I think is the honesty that he comes across as.

@DJW50, I was very skeptical when I first read about Nick Bacon’s fancy schmancy BNC cables. It wasn’t until I heard them for myself that I was convinced of their efficacy. I now have three of them, and I consider the WAVE Storm BNC’s to be an essential component in my setup.

Definitely agree. The WAVE Storm BNC’s are considered an essential component in my set up. I too was hesitant on such expensive cables but for the DAVE/TT2 with MScaler they are a match made in heaven.

Thanks for the replies, food for thought. I am still tempted to investigate the numerous 5N coax cables on the market particularly the Japanese ones with proper 75 ohm plugs. As it will be a while before the M Scaler purchase I have time to investigate.

Thinking of adding m scaler to my setup but heard few rumours of mscaler 2 in the works any truth and timescales on this at all?? Thx

Its gonna be a choral range m-scaler to match DAVE but will also be in the same price range as DAVE.

I think late 2022 was mentioned. Price likely to be in same range as Dave.

Any new features to expect on this Choral M-Scaler? It has do something more than the current Hugo M-Scaler I'm assuming.

The simple answer is that I do not know. I guess much more of the same in other words more taps and taking advantage of all that Rob has learned since the design of the HMS. If it is as far advanced as the Dave is compared to the TT2 then that is a big gap and it can be expected to be rather special.

Agreed, the Dave's performance far exceeds that of the TT2 to my ears. I've owned them both and still own the Dave. I can't say I'm looking forward to the pricing of the Choral M-Scaler, haha.

C.a.n.n.o.t. w.a.i.t. !!! But not for the price release. I sincerely hope we get a nice surprise from Chord as this year is going to be hard for everyone.

I am hoping to add an M Scaler to my set up some time this year. I am in a state of confusion over the cables that will run from the proposed M Scaler to my current Qutest (which I really like over the onboard DAC of my Pathos Inpol Ear)
I have seen the likes of the Wave Storm etc along with a seller on e-bay who uses the QED Silver cables with ferrite rods fitted in dual BNC cables.
I don't want to spend a fortune but want decent cables any suggestions and why they should be used would help me.

You wont regret a HMS upgrade.
As for the dual coax.. im still enjoying my self made short ones:

You can also explore going duo optical:

Thanks useful info. and you should know as you have the Qutest and the M Scaler. I'm exploring 5N pure silver coax 75 ohm cables, they are available worldwide. In one of the reviews the guy said there is only a small increase in sound quality with the super expensive interconnects. I'm reluctant to spend £1500 when a couple of 5N cables cost £300 plus ferrites that can clamp on to the cables are about £3 each.
Like you I'm thinking shorter the better. I'm certainly not doubting the efficacy of these super cables but I do question the value for money when you've spent out on the M Scaler.

Unlike for analog.. i dont think silver would give any benefit over copper for digital signals as long all 1 and 0's are received and RF is rejected.

Placing fertites yourself can even degrade things if theyre dont 'absorb' the right frequencies.. Rob posted his findings about this on the 1st couple of pages of this thread.

I didnt bothered trying it.

I am playing with the idea of making myself a dual 1310nm optical transmitter receiver line
Just for hobby sake..
