is there any audible difference?

Unlikely. The one cable that I personally feel makes a subtle difference as final tweaks is the power cable. Other cables especially digital I'm pretty much in the it's snake oil camp. Anything well constructed to spec should provide as optimal SQ as it gets. Oyaide is as much as I'll pay for quality cables. Their stuff is as good as any megabuck offerings IMO.

He was asking about an out of spec. cable (50 Ohm connectors on a 75 Ohm cable). In terms of power cable, that's not replaceable with the MScaler. Well, you could use a different power supply but Rob Watts has said that can be detrimental.

Sorry I thought it was in context of jibrach's comment below..

come on now nobody needs to spend 2500 for a cable to enjoy the combo.....thats ridiculous

Mscaler - 6200.00 cad
Wave cables - 2500.00 cad
Not half but closing in.

Wave's flagship Storm cost 1500 USD, it uses 5N (99.99%) pure silver w/ an Oyaide connector. Oyaide DB-510 has the same specs for 350 USD. What are you getting for the price difference? I guess some shielding and other RF voodoo magic.

I used the Digital AC X from JPS for my Dave, I see others using much more expensive cables, but I'm pretty content with my choice.

is there an audible difference going from a 50 to 75 ohm connector? finding the answer to this is at the top of my list of priorities for this week.

True probably not worth bothering w/ an LPS on the M but DAVE is responsive to power cables from my experience.

I experimented with different power supplies for the Mscaler and I am fully aware of what RW has said about them but to my ears they can make the MScaler even better (softer top end, less fatigue, deeper more detailed bass). I have settled on the Custom HiFi Cables DC4 by Sean Jacobs, he designed the power supply for the Innuos Statement so he knows a thing or two about power supplies for digital equipment.

Nor sure why you are concerned with this, I thought you have Amphenol 75ohm cables with 75ohm connectors.

they are definitely 75 ohm cables but mediahound stated some cables have 50ohm connectors and that you should ensure you have the 75ohm connectors. i'm now wondering if my cables might have the 50ohm connectors. i'm also wondering if you can actually hear any difference.

If you bought Amphenol 75 ohm made up cables from a reputable company you will probably have the 75 ohm cables & BNC. I have some here that I bought and they are definitely 75ohm. Would you actually hear a difference anyway? Probably not.

These are links to Amphenol 50ohm and 75ohm cables with BNC connectors so you can compare them to yours. If you have the 'wrong ones' you can see they are not expensive to buy the other ones.

There's no point knowing, why not just get 75 ohm cables! 75 ohms is the correct standard.
