Really interested in headphones that allow mscaler to shine. I currently have HD800s

FWIW, I've always found the Utopia to be source microscopes. So if you're looking for something that will reveal all the little upstream changes you make, I'd take a look at Utopia (plus Focal is running some pretty good deals on the three flagships through the end of October).

Give Abyss Phi a listen. An excellent headphone that fully scales to what mscaler offers

The incoming jitter on optical is eliminated via a DPLL; but the OP is then sent via an analogue PLL, and this is fed with the DPLL created jitter free word clock. The analogue PLL is very low jitter, and has been designed to have as little LF or correlated jitter as possible. The DAC will then clean up this source jitter via it's DPLL.

The powering is the same as Blu 2 - the M scaler in both is auto powered down. The standby on the Blu 2 only affects the CD mech.
So ineffect mscaler is a jitter and phase noise reduction device too?
Is this the same as Blu2?
Is the jitter reduction working in bypass mode?

+1 on the Utopia... although Id think that something as resolving as the SR-009 properly amp’d would be great for the mScaler as well.

I received my black M Scaler today. I am in Switzerland, and preordered on Aug 9, 2018.

However, I am scratching my head as I don't know what to do with the remote that was in the box. None of the buttons seem to do anything on the Scaler when I press them.

Also, the user manual shows a complete different layout:

Did I receive a wrong remote?

I don't have my Dave remote in front of me but my recollection is that it is the same of the one you have pictured. The second one in schematic has the buttons one would expect for the HMS. The answer to your question appears to be . . .yes!

I also agree that you appear to have the wrong remote. Luckily everything works with buttons on the HMS so you can listen to music. I guess the store can post you out a new remote even if they have to rob another unit.

@yaccobo
Yeah, that's identical to my Hugo 2 remote. You're going to have to take that back to the store and get it sorted. Unless Chord jump in a sort it.

Thank you @GreenBow and all. It seems the wrong remote will indeed need to be sent back to the dealer for a replacement :-/

A question for mscaler owners. What all are you feeding the mscaler with ?
Is it mostly classical music, or is it a case of classical - crap, I mean rap, and everything in between ? If people are listening to anything other than classical music, does the mscaler still have the same wow factor.

Yup, as someone said. That’s Hugo 2’s remote. You got the wrong remote bud.
