Has anyone tried something like this power strip instead of battery packs? It does apparently have some RFI/EMI noise attenuation. Seems like a way more convenient solution than worrying about a battery all the time. (This one is also MOV-less which is supposed to sound the best).

I have the top end Furman reference, I can still hear the high frequency hash compared to the lack of using the batteries.

Bixpower never shut down the direct battery output unless the voltage is below 9v. I charge Bixpower before running out of juice.

Could be sorta dangerous if you forget to charge it and start listening. I think there is even something in the M Scaler manual that says it's power should never be cut off while music is playing.

Note that Rob Watts only uses a battery pack while traveling without access to mains power. I think he even doesn't use it on a plane if he is going by Business Class where he can plug in. When at home, he also plugs in to mains, but does use upgraded BNCs.

I'll post my impressions, it's inconvenient to keep using a battery, but if the jump in quality is justified I'll keep charging the battery. I may go S Booster MK2 though, A lot of people have said it's fantastic with both the Qutest and M Scaler.
From my experience, iFi Elite >> Sbooster MK2 w/o ultra. Sbooster adds too much low frequency harmonic noise.

I have a habit of doing "pre-flight check" (it is from my other hobby). I check the batteries state of charge before listening. Anyway, for low voltage output device like Mscaler, I won't worry about it. For TT2, it is another story.

TT2 is actually safer to cut out the power while playing because of the super-capacitors, which act like a bit of a buffer.

You are right. But now I am more confused as both TT2 and Mscaler have the same warning. May be ESD. I am not an expert on that.

No way Mscaler still powers for 15 seconds after disconnected the power as the manual said. Another typo.

Yeah, that's an error. The TT2 does stay powered for 12-15 seconds, but not the M Scaler.
