How's the isolation on the Head-Direct RE2? | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

Long story short, my IEMs broke and I need new ones. I like what I've heard about the RE2 and I'm ready to buy them, but I need to know that they're capable of blocking out the average amount of noise you'd expect to find on public transport, or more specifically on busses.

Can anyone confirm that they're capable of this much?

Isolation is a weak spot for RE2 as it has an semi-open design.

I figured it would be, but could it isolate at least most of the noise on a bus? Or at the very least make me unable to hear people talking?

Damn. The search continues then I guess... reading one of Joker's threads has made me really want a pair of Sony MDR-ZX700 for portable use but I don't think my wallet likes the idea
