How many tracks/albums in your music library?

Just finished converting my CDs to Wav and FLAC. This comes to just over 2000 tracks, which I'll regard as my 'core' collection. Interestingly, perhaps I have just over 3000 MP3 files, though many of these are (legal) downloads, lower bitrate rips and undoubtedly duplicates.

So I'll go with the 2000 'pristine' tracks in the collection. BTW, I join the movements in Baroque/Classical works, so perhaps that figure could be considered 2 or 3 times higher...

just over 750 gigs and expanding exponentially like some recursive virus... of course over 25 gigs in Zappa alone. Some day I will have a mean jukebox that will be accessed from recessed touchscreens imbedded in the walls of my house. Well it's one of my dreams anyway.

I used to do that, but I stopped for 2 reasons
  • For pieces I'm not familiar with, it's nice to be able to see what movement I'm listening to
  • My iPod is really not happy with large files

I used to join tracks for a movement that was broken up, but since gapless playback was added to iPods, I stopped doing that as well.

14,001 songs
~112GB
*some of the music is from when the mp3 first became popular - so it isn't all quality*

High Quality/Lossless
~4,500 songs
~83GB

Vinyl: 43 LP's

CD's: 27 on me at the moment - rest in storage after they were ripped - the best ones get a steady rotation.

Though my Video Library still wins the size contest of 215 movies and 453GB of space.
There is a real reason why people have 1TB of hard drive space, they are media hounds.
