How many of you started off with Sony phones before you knew about Head-Fi?

Yeah, my first pair of headphones were some cheapo Sony MDR-004's, heh.

Later, I moved on to the Koss stuff like the WM-60 and TD-61's.

Then I came here... and that was the end of those days!

My first "serious" pair were MDR-V600s, and they served me well for many years.
When the ear pads started to fall apart, I went online seeking recommendations,
and luckily found this forum. I ended up getting HD595s, and the first (and only)
time I A/B'ed them, I was shocked by how much better the Senns were. Made the
Sonys sound like utter garbage. And all those years I thought they were the biz.
Thanks, Head-Fi!

Guilty as charged.

I started with the good old Panasonic earbuds at Payless for $10. I progressed to the Street Style Sonys for $24. I finally got some Senn 212pros for $50. Now I just look back on those days and wish things there that simple once more!
