I have only 2 ears, and 2 full sized 2 IEMs

Grado SR225, my first full sized HP and 50% present of my father. Fostex T50RP (1 week old). Wanted to know how orthodynamics sound, and for the price they are great.

Shure SE-210, the thing that started this madness. Bought them new with the Cowon D2 for a nice reduced price. Phonak PFE, present from my father, excellent IEMs that made me end my pursue in the IEM world. (Damn my father is great, ain't he?

And finally some to come. Already have in sight my dream HP, but that will have to wait a few months

After that I will have to stay away from this site. Have been reading a lot lately and feel the urge to try every type of HP in the market...

Human obsession with things. More is better. Bigger is better. Bigger pair of baps is better.

Really no need for more than 1 pair of each type really, and if you need several of that type then each phone isn't a sorted product.

Hmm, at the end of this summer I will finish with a big list of HPs (5-6 HPs) when I will only be able to listen to one at a time. However there are some cans I won't be able to sell...

I lost count.

Seriously. My profile is incomplete. Probably 7 or 8 'phones around the house not worth mentioning in it.

I am down to 10. None of the headphones really outshine all the others in all areas so I guess I keep them all around to listen to depending on my mood. My UE-11 Pros get 98% of the play time as they are my commute headphone.

Sony R10 Balanced
Stax Omega II mk 1
Senn HD-800 Balanced
Ultimate Ears UE-11 Pro
Grado HP-2
Grado HF-2 Balanced
Senn HD-600 Balanced
AKG K-340 Balanced
Grado SR-60
Yuin OK3

Five pairs now. To be completely honest, I feel like getting rid of it all and spending my free time studying Catholicism. : ) I bought out of curiosity, too, like the good Uncle, and I like to a/b them. But lately I seem to be listening compulsively and wishing I were reading the Catechism instead! : )

so it's like one phone per music style? or per artist? or per album?

sometimes you start listening to one then think "I'd better use XXX instead" and switch in the middle of a song?

or it only depends on your "mood"? it's like if you had 10 video projectors installed, and would choose one over another depending on your mood....I still fail to understand

No I get bored with a headphone and use another one for a while. Sometimes I just want something different.

Three and feel I'm satisfied, I'm not really one to try out a whole bunch of things once I find something I really like.

HD650 - relaxing at home
PK1 - portability
E4C - isolation
