the D10 isn't just an amp. If you wanted to compare apples to large apples, get the compass. The only difference in cost is shipping since the compass is much bigger. Usually people favor a full size to a portable given the same price range

Portability, sound quality, build quality, design, price vs. performance, features, ...

Then you probably do not want to compare the DAC/amp D10 to a home amplifier without taking a home DAC into consideration as well.

It doesn't come with a usb though, how would I get one?

Hmm.... Compass (280+57) - D10 (275+22) = 40. 80 bucks is double that...time to go back and take more classes

It's also not very fair to put the zero up against the D10 if you're looking for similar priced amps...the D10 is 100+ dollars more. However, I feel that the D10 might be facing some harsh competition since that 100 bucks is basically the fee for having a portable dac/amp.

Besides the fact that the Compass is $330. The $280 sale seems to be over...
