How Do YOU like/cook Your Ramen!

I prefer udon :p
But how I make them depends how lazy I'm being.
Sometimes I put the block in a bowl with water and microwave it, drain some water off, add the seasoning, and enjoy.
Or if I have some more time, I cook them in a pot with the seasoning in it.
Or with even more time, I'll cook the noodles, drain them, rinse them, and fry them in a wok with vege's (sometimes tofu too) and flavourings (usually includes sesame seed oil, tamari, garlic, chilli and whatever else I find in the cupboard). The longest method tastes better, but often it's too much effort.

x2

Lately for meals I just throw some quick-cook veggies in a big saucepan with a packet of udon noodles, stir on high heat for 5 minutes, dump in a can of tuna and pour on the soy sauce. Yum.

Maybe we need a new thread - Stir-Fi, anyone?

If I had the time to actually boil water and make decent ramen, then yes the Korean ramen above or others that are even better is the way to go. I don't always have the time to make decent ramen, so in those instances "maruchan" or others in that category is the way to go if I need to eat something on the go.

  • i throw the packet against a wall until the noodles are crushed up to the size of a grain of rice and dump them in a bowl,
  • add just enough water to cover the noodles.
  • cook for 3 minutes in microwave until all water is gone
  • add spice packet.
  • eat with a spoon!

i dont like my ramen overcooked (Korean Spicy Ramen, for example), so i add boiling water and put in the microwave for about 2-3 min.

This makes the hard and crunchy (in a good way)...and i love to put little water as possible to get good tasting noodles...but that usually means the soup will be super hot.

I just rolled out with regular ol' chicken!

Ramen noodles have thus far been my retirement plan. I take whatever money I save from eating that stuff everyday and invest it. ::laughs::

I would say...

Boil water
Add Noodles
Add 1/2 Seasoning
Drain 1/2 broth
Add Tabasco/Sontava/etc
eat.

For whatever reason my brother (younger) puts soy sauce in his ramen. As if the stuff didn't have enough salt already.
