I think they rock. Especially the "Birth" cord which is a bit of a stellar bargain at around 50 bucks when you can find it on Ebay ... 150+ otherwise ... great bit of wire.

There really is a good power cord review here in this forum. By Markl I think. Try the search. He put a lot of time and effort into that one.

That being said, I do like the Zu products, and have the Zu Mobius for my HD650s, and do like it. I have some lower end ICs from them, and I did get the Birth cable for my Raptor, and it functions well. I can't complain about my current system, although I am looking into going balanced.

Nice cable, good construction quality, and Nice company to work with.

Have not tried the EBay purchase, but probably will look into it.

I got the Bok for 118.. Retails for 349.. I can't see myself paying retail for a PC unless I can hear it in my system first, even then, it depends on the effects..

I'm sure I'll be flamed.. But I was trying various RCA cables in a mad rush, since I was getting drop out in the right channel of my BC DAC 2.. I wasn't doing it to hear a difference or to test.. Just to find a cure.. I did notice the cardas silver RCA cables, which I got free was more open & less congested then the Monster RCA cables that I paid at least 40.00 for.. Didn't do a long A/B, just switching back & forth.. I noticed that one of my Cardas cable has a tighter fit which diminished the audio drop out quite a bit.. I just bought some Bulkin RCA to see if it's a fit issue.. They were only 13.00, but have a great rep as being quality cables.. Might send my BC DAC2 to the person who modded it to see if he can remedy the problem.

I use a lot of 'em 'cause they look nice and were cheap on eBay.

I doubt they make any sonic difference, but my wife said "either hide the cords or use slick looking ones".

Of late I have switched from Zu to Element Cable for power cords.

Both companies have been great to deal with. They guys at Element Cable have been especially helpful to me -- that makes a big difference.

I kind of feel with you.. I love ZU, their look & stellar CS.. I just won their best PC they ever created.. The Mother MK2.. Retails for 500.00.. I won it for 202 on audiogon. I give credit for Zu for putting their hi priced gear on auction sites. I'd never pay 500 for a PC.. Cover me with 'snake oil', but I just had to bite, to hear the best PC ever made by ZU.. Not going to kid myself into believing my gear will transform into a musical power house...But I will give it a test run with my gear.. Just for notes sake.. I prefer my 13.00 Belkin RCAs over my 80.00 Cardas silver cables that I got free... Placebo or not! I want to hear a difference damit!!!!!!

I only noticed a lowered noise floor.. Could have been a system problem.

I don't notice anything compared to a cheapo PC cable, it looks nice though. I bought mine close to what Koven paid for it.

13.00 Belkins RCAs? Lets take it another step lower; Monoprice RCAs... What say you?

I'm kinda new here and had never heard of Monoprice. Now that I have, I'm reading mixed feelings about them. They're so cheap (all their cables, not just the RCA IC's) it's hard for me to believe that they're any better than those freebies you get when you buy a cheap CD player.

Don't let the price of the Monoprice Premium RCAs discourage you, they are a huge step above the skinny, unshielded cheapos that come bundled with gear.

Well, If I get no magic, ZU has a 60 day money back guarantee.. I only bought the Birth cause it looked cool & got it for 57 shipped. This was in 06.. I do applaud them for putting their PC on ebay/audiogon.. Getting 118.00 PC for 28.00 is a stellar deal, regardless if your a believer or not.
