I have an old Pioneer wireless headphone amp running off my Rotel.
It's a wireless system- but the included pioneer headphones are a big large and the signal cuts out too often.

It has a 1/4 output for a second set of wired headphones.
I have been plugging in my Ultrasone pro 900's and they sound good- but they are closed.
I really think I would prefer an open headphone for my movie watching.

How would the beyer DT-990's compare sound wise?

Would it be worth selling my pro 900's for the Beyers?

Heya,

Sell the PRO900's. Get the PRO2900's.

Very best,

It's the PRO900, but open-air, so all that sound stage and open sound you're looking for, with the bass of the PRO900, and much more relaxed treble to boot.

Very best,

For the most part, I agree with you. The Pro 2900 are more natural sounding headphones, but they have slightly less bass impact when compared to the Pro 900. However, both are more impactful than the DT990.

oldson, replacing the Pro 900 for the Pro 2900 is a good move for your intended usage.

not good for me. i only want closed cans at the moment for isolation reasons.
i was just curious at the comment made.

having said that i am considering selling my 900's anyway, as they are second to my d7000, by a mile.
just fancy a change.
