Is the Sonion 33AJ007i/9 or HODVTEC better woofers than the 22955? How to best implement the 22955 as a low end driver or would it be better to use either one of the alternatives?
Better is subjective. CI is an awesome driver. 33AJ007i/9 has more sub punch and SPL than HOD. HOD is pre-wired in parallel and can’t be altered. 33 can be either wired parallel or series. When you think implementation, the pairing drivers are just as important as the next. So, without a total chain set-up, cant really say with any certainty whats going to check your boxes. In general, 33AJ007i/9 pairs well with 2389 and CI229 pairs well with the TWFK

Personally I prefer the 22955 over the vented woofers, but that is just personal taste.

I am currently working on my own set in which I'm laying out the sound tubes in fusion360 so laying out the drivers will be simpler. However to me it looks like 64 Audio has this patented. Does anyone with a better eye for these things mind giving it a glance to see if this is the case? I know 3D printed tubes are a common occurrence but I'm wondering if the jurisdiction is just limited to the US on that.

If it's just for personal use and you don't plan on selling it then nobody here at 64 Audio would have a problem with you 3D printing sound bores.

Just a question, does the vent have to be on a DD (bass) or can I vent a mid like a 29689 or a high frequency driver. Just cause the bass I want it strong.
Good idea. I broke the negative terminal contact not being careful enough, so was only able to test the vented 29689 connected to positive wire and center tap. Curve looks pretty good though.

With or without filters? Also what do you think about implementing something like only 22955 and a TWFK/SWFK, or if a 29689 still necessary in the setup.
I would test somethings out to be sure, but based on how you filter and cross over the CI, TWFK can be a REALLY good pairing. However, be mindful of the high end extension as this configuration can lean a little dark.
