If there is no downside, the benefit for me will be the ability to stream from my iPhone to the streamer via Airplay, and thus my good headphone setup, allowing me to use it instead of Bluetooth headphones.

For good wired headphones you should never do that but better use the iPhone apps to manage the streaming content.
Even Apple CCK directly wired to DAC is hugely superior to Airplay.
As Apple Music unfortunately doesn't offer some Apple Music connect function to remote control the streaming content like Tidal or Spotify the best way with Red will be connecting the IOS device to the USB in and use the DDC function to the DAC whenever not using the actual Streamer mode for Roon, Tidal or whatever

Airplay is no lossless codec or let's be more precise
"Airplay 2 protocol does indeed support up to 24/48 lossless streams, but unfortunately currently Apple Music lossless content is transcoded to AAC 256kbps before playback via Airplay."
Therefore it's always a SQ compromise due to that transformation limit and even without the transformation limit you compromise content with higher than Redbook quality like 24/192

Nope but when mine arrives I plan on wrapping it. As long as it’s an improvement to my chain and the I2s option works with Rockna dacs.

It looks a lot like the satin red that GS-X uses on their amps, which looked just fine in my stack with May.

That’s cool. I’m just not a fan of red and I’ve wrapped things before. It’ll look good afterwards and blend in well.

Silly they chose not to offer it in different color options as red doesn't fit most audio stacks anyway.

I’ve tried to use the Holo Red DDC I2S out to my Rockna Wavedream DAC. The L R channel is flipped when playing PCM & DSD.

Same issue with the iFi ZEN Stream and (only sometimes?!) Pi2AES.
Rockna told me their pinout for PS-Audio is correct, but I’m really starting to doubt it!
