Holo Audio Cyan 2 DAC

I just thought, I leave a note here about the digital inputs: optical, coax and USB. USB is far superior to the other two. Optical is my least favourite, it is a bit 'pale' in comparison. Coax has more body and sound more pleasant than optical, but USB leaves both in the dust with its ultimate clarity, detail and fine dynamics.
What about the AES?

Hi,

New oner of the Cyan 2. (Buy from Magna Hifi with purple fuse)
I'll test it and then I'll compare it to my Frerot + Pow 1.
First test with a R2R DAC for me 😅

how well does the V222 stack with the Cyan 2? I have a V222 and am thinking about getting a Cyan 2 when available and I have very limited space

It's nice.
Anyway I ordered yesterday a new DD Hifi rack.
thanks for the photo, it looks like half the rear foot is overhanging so should be ok until I can sort out a stand of some sort - now I just have to find some Cyan 2 stock or at least a pre-order that won't leave me in limbo for months

Thanks for the detail shot, this is exactly how my v226 is going to be sitting and roughly how I expected the fit based on my measurements.

No experience with that yet.
Cheers, does anyone else use the AES and can compare it to the other digital inputs? I can connect my CD-transport this way or use optical or I2S, no USB.

I2S, no USB
At this point, my short experience that I2S from DDC is superior to USB in every way except bass speed.

I presume, it probably has to do something with system noise from my streamer that creeps through coax.
There my be something more cause Coax has galvanic isolation too. There's Pulse transformer to do the job.

Alright. Well, perhaps the cables then. I used a pretty basic coax cable while I have a Supra Excalibur USB.

On a different note, the Cyan 2 is definitely one of my best audio purchases from the last 2-3 years.

When did you get your ha-3a and Caldera? Quite the endorsement if they're included in that 2-3 years.

*Edit - just occured to me I think both of these are under 2 years old

I think 3A was January 2023, Caldera around September last year. Yeah, I love them all! :)
