@roiosdona he answered that above, i did not have time to test stock tubes, but roi told me his tubes almost cost over 2.5k usdDo you recall what tubes the Envy had?
Crazy, i didnt know tubes are that expensive.@roiosdona he answered that above, i did not have time to test stock tubes, but roi told me his tubes almost cost over 2.5k usd
300b tubes get to the 2k range.Crazy, i didnt know tubes are that expensive.
I don’t actually disagree that the susvara wins on the technicalities and timbre but for me bass slam and macrodynamics are very important. IMHO the lcd-4 wins hands down for those qualities.always amazes me how subjective these things are...I own the lcd-4z and have had the 4 as well and I have the susvara and to me there is no comparison I like the 4z and 4 but susvara is in another league IMHO
I haven't heard LCD-4, but Caldera with the Feliks Audio Envy were amazing... I preferred them over the Susvaras.I don’t actually disagree that the susvara wins on the technicalities and timbre but for me bass slam and macrodynamics are very important. NOS WE probably sound amazing, but are truly for those who have money to burn. The current production ones are great, as are Elrogs and AN4300E. Something for every taste.300b tubes get to the 2k range.
For NOS Western Electric 300b they tend to start at 9k to 10k and go up from there.

I've got on the Elrog wait list. About another 8 weeks.NOS WE probably sound amazing, but are truly for those who have money to burn. The current production ones are great, as are Elrogs and AN4300E. Something for every taste.
My Willsenton R300 is one of my favorite amps, I sometimes even prefer it to the Bliss. It's $1,000 new and uses 300b tubes. If I needed to be reminded why I walked away from tubes this thread has done the job.
Looks good! Mine is on the way. By the way, where to buy the isolation feet and a small stand?Yep I'm aware, I put feet below them! The bottom definitely gets HOT!
The effect is minimal if anything. Serene is so clean and really adds nothing. But it takes nothing away for the wonderful sound of Bliss and May together. Serene allows me to easily use May with 2ch amp and Bliss without using a switch. Serene did seem to add something to Ferrum stack but that "something" was probably allowing Ferrum Oor to be used in Bypass mode. I have not tried using a tube pre but that seems like the best way to add flavor to the setup. How would you describe the effect of Serene between May and Bliss? I read earlier that you liked it between May and Ferrum stack. I've lately used Freya+ in active SS buffer mode and like it a lot. I've started wondering what other SS preamps with different topologies would do.
Maybe try these instead? I think they're taller.Looks good! Mine is on the way. By the way, where to buy the isolation feet and a small stand?
