Been listenin to a lot of different stuff lately, but I wanna get back into Hip-Hop.
Some of the stuff I'm feelin now is:

K'Naan - The Dusty Foot Philosopher
Asamov - And Now
K-OS - Joyful Rebellion

Some favorite artists:

Gangstarr
Blackstar
Common
The Roots
MF Doom

Open to any suggestions old or new.

Lupe Fiasco - The Cool
Common - Finding Forever(sure you already have)
Talib Kweli - Eardrum

This is what I have been listening to in the realm of hip hop to hold me over.

edan - beauty and the beat

curse ov dialect - wooden tongues

Also in regards to "older stuff;" Gravediggaz' "6 Feet Deep" is essential.

P.O.S., Blackalicious, Blueprint, RJD2, Foreign Beggars, The Streets, Immortal Technique, Mos Def. Also they are kinda on the edge of hip-hop but the Youngblood Brass Band.

This made me think of a conversation I recently had with a friend about what are the "classic" hip hop albums. Here's our off-the-top-of-the-head list:

Run-D.M.C. - King Of Rock and Raising Hell
L.L. Cool J - Bigger And Deffer
Public Enemy - Yo! Bum Rush The Show, It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back , and Fear Of A Black Planet
De La Soul - Three Feet High And Rising
Geto Boys - The Geto Boys
Eric B & Rakim - Paid In Full and Follow The Leader
Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory
Beastie Boys - Licensed To Ill, and Paul's Boutique
Dr. Dre - The Chronic
NaS - Illmatic
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
Wu Tang Clan - Enter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers)
Jay-Z - The Blueprint
Eminem - The Slim Shady LP

Of course a lot of hip hop is singles based, and a lot of great songs appear on CDs that have a lot of filler.

Try some of this:

Captain Dan and the Scurvy Crew (rapping about the high seas, blackbeard's treasure etc... funny stuff)

Zealous1 (nerd rap leaning closer to regular)

Ytcracker (funniest nerd rap ever..... really original stuff and thought out lyrics)
