so i need recommendtions for :

- Custom IEM (JH16pro?)
- Exellent source with the abilty to play up to 24-bit/192khz flac files
- High quality AMP (if necessary)

thnx in advance for the help

I think the new Fiio X3 player is said to likely have 24/192 playback, although the final specs haven't been confirmed yet.  You might want to wait for that to be released.  Though you'll need uSD cards for storage and will probably want to pair it with an upgraded portable amp.

X3 can output digital thru SPDIF. If the reviews on this (ie, non-digital standard coax cable) are good, and you're looking more for a transportable rig and keeping the S9 for fully portable use, I suggest the X3+Ibasso DB2+Ibasso PB2 and an IEM of your choice terminated to balanced. A custom IEM would be the best choice.

WHy don't you get the Cowon J3+Headstage Arrow+Miracle/JH 16?
If I had that much money I would go that way. J3 and Arrow together has the size of an Ipod classic with silicon cover!

i read cowon d3 have better sq than the s9/j3 and soon will get an android 2.3 update, so as a source and overall pmp it would be a better choice

i got two dilemas:
1. are the J16 pro worth the extra $$ and would they be a better choice than the UM Miracle?
2. both got low impedance (16ohm-18ohm) does they realy need an amp?

Actually, in some cases, the lower the impedance, the more you might need an amp. You're squeezing a lot of power for volume but you mightn ot have enough current when straight out of a media player, save for stuff like the S:Flo, Amp3, etc.

Since you have the SM3 you might be interested to get the EM3 pro or probably Westone ES5. More driver doesn't mean that it is better.

The alternatives belonging to the same class as the JH16 will be ACS T1, Westone ES5, UE IERM, Sensaphonics 2MAX, and ALSO JH13 (some people prefer the 13 over the 16). The 16 is the priciest among all these.

I upgraded from Westone3 to T1 recently, love it. You should audtioned all of them before you buy I think. I tried the JH16 and didn't really like it.
