High End Cables Thread (digital, analog, power)

I'm totally in love with the design if those cables.
Hopefully the Bass returned on the I2s

I know right? They look and feel really good. Soundwise, it's getting there. Maybe it's their tin-plated copper, but the highs do seem more pleasant than the silver cored Tubulus.

TWL Obsession in the house!!!
Didn't expect it's quite heavy and yet super flexible.
Time for some burn-in:L3000:

I just pulled the trigger on the Pink faun i2s cable.
They have great customer service and are ultra fast with production.

Nice! I felt the cord sounded great from the start and there was a definite uptick in transparency and drop in floor noise. My wa33 is dead silent even with the Utopia. Pete says the Rhodium coating on the fcn plug will take some time to run in. Enjoy!

Their after sales service is equally great, if not better, so rest assured you'll be taken care of if anything goes south with the cable. Jord is one of the nicest guys in the industry!

My Initial impression is very much so, a clear drop in floor noise, an increase in transparency. But what surprises me more is the bass. Oh my! With the Abyss, the bass is just addictive! The attack is just something I didn't realize I had in my system. Just simply wonderful!

This is very reassuring :)

Had a brief chat with Jord about making a custom i2s cable to enable the rockna for use with the denafrips gaia (different pinout) and he said it was possible if I give him the schematics. He did suggest to try the cable I currently have, as he thinks there is a chance it may work. I'll be getting the denafrips gaia on loan soon. Will give it a shot and report back.

Even though this is off topic, what does a D to D converter do?
Why could one want it in his system?

Let's u convert the stream from USB to i2s or analog out (spdif/coaxial, aes/ebu). If you're going to get the rockna streamer, then you won't need a ddc.

So basically it reclocks the signal from an USB / Optical etc source, I wonder how noteable the benefits are.

And yes I certainly will get the Rockna Server. I already have it pre ordered.

For what it's worth.. I've tried usb to all my dacs and I've always preferred the ddc+i2s.

Also, when I had the xsabre pro, I preferred it when the dac was synced to the ddc clock, rather than its own clock.

A DDC is actually doing the same thing as USB input does. When you connect your DAC via USB, the signal will be internally converted to SPDIF. The DDC performs the same task but with a better clock and cleaner power supply and thus explains the benefit of having a DDC.

Thank you for explaining :)
