Some of their one-of custom/boutique options will be with no connectors but a regular cable
Thanks- yes their custom shop is very good and helpful. I have had nothing but great customer service from them. Once I had a cable with a faulty connection and they fixed that one (warranty) and gave me an extra one for free. Super people to work with and very responsive as well.

Can anyone recommend some good sub $500 cables for the Sus? These stock catheter cables are starting to wear on me.

Forza gets our vote. Very good cables all around and reasonably priced.

Dang. Pro iDSD with high gain and the Susvara gets so much deep bass and delivers such a full sound. This one here is with the Pro-ject rs2t + mqa toslink to the Proidsd. Even streaming Tidal via lan is just as amazing to my surprise. I get a full deeper sound than the May KTE + Hypsos OOR stack.

Arctic Magnus. Nice details. Adds a little heft in the midrange. Treble is slightly smoothed out in a good way. Retains all details.

I prefer it over the Lavricables Grand.
@Somatic
Isn't the Lavricables Grand 100% silver and over 1,000?
Is this because Susvara improves with less silver and more copper?

Lavricables is not that expensive. I think $300-500. Some people prefer silver. Say other brands are better. I just like a very good copper cable with the Susvara personally

I use heimdall 2 and Moon black dragon. Black dragon smoothes out a little more. It all depends of what your chain sound like. If your system is a little bright you can use copper. If you need a little top energy you use silver or silverplated copper cable. It’s my experience so far.

Just get rid of the May...it's one of those Internet hot dacs - you know what I mean?

Well it did create that perspective. With the May + hypsos/OOR combo, I thought it was the OOR that was underwhelming and underpowered. But when I swapped out the May KTE for a Burson Reference, holy cow. I got a better playback performance on all factors. May isn't neutral at all. It's light, thin. Burson and pro iDSD is proper neutral.

I feel the same way. I tried May multiple times and that was my gripe with them. I honestly don't understand all the rave reviews of May - I must assume they were paid reviews or the reviewers simply had minimal experience with high-end dac/high-end sound. Stick with Pro iDSD - you can probably get them to sound better with a better power supply/isolation/ac filter and a separate good transport.

I heard Hypos/OOR a couple of times and I recall I thought they sounded competent with a touch of warmth.
