What did you end up getting to pair with the Dave?
The HeadAmp GS-X MK2. So much power and drive with very minimal the lose of transparency.

Just received a loaner Oor/Hyposos stack. So far so good. I'd say it's comparable to iCAN Signature

Had a significant jump in SQ to my Susvara today by adding a Plixir Elementa power conditioner. Everything sounds obviously cleaner and the bass became a lot more detailed, lower and more full-bodied, even to the lowest frequencies I could hear. Everything sounds even smoother, nothing glaring. I thought my system did not sound grainy, until the improvements. Even blacker background, a lot more detailed, no harshness.

I’ve got everything in my chain connected to it, so the sum of improvements is really immediately obvious. Susvara really has an infinite ceiling and you can keep getting improvements the more you squeeze.

I now removed the pads but the Hifiman rings I ordered are other dimension vs. the original. These don't fit.
https://store.hifiman.com/index.php/earpad-mounting-rings.html

The original has a marker R (right), L (left) is a little oval on the bottom and the 4 pins are a little higher to snap in better. The other I bought don't snap in.

Where can I bought original Susvara rings?

I have problem to fit these O-rings to my Sus also. I ended up with double-sided tape.

BTW, does anybody know if this replacement headband will fit on Sus? also what is the difference between "Small" and "Large" size? Large is longer or wider?

The link you provided are the same rings I used. You got to use a bit of pressure. You want to lips to go between the housing and the metal filter. It will work.

You don’t need oval ones, round ones work fine. Just like how you had to really try to remove the og pads you will have to really try to get the Eikons on round rings to fit. I’d sugggest removing the liner from the eikon pads. Make installation easier so you can use your fingers inside the pads to snap the ring in place and it removes a bit of the veil from the sound.

Shouldn’t be that hard. First attach left and right side. Remember it’s thin plastic it can bend a bit. For top and bottom you can use a credit card and some downward pressure and it should clip in.

I got them to work. Took off filter as well. I bought some auteur hybrid Preferated too. Thinking of super glueing the rings just to make them feel more solid.

Ok ordered some Auteur Perf Hybrids ... looking for a comfy pad that is more open as well. Eikon for a LCD5 type of effect and we shall see how the Auteur Perf Hybrids sound :)
Let us know your impressions!

I also started down the Eikon and HM pad rabbit hole. In light of several less than positive posts I don't want to continue pad rolling. I already do that with tubes!
I may just leave them in the sealed box from ZMF and put them up on the classifieds. I wasn't a fan of the Dekoni due to how thin they were compared to the OEM on my Sus.

I am going to try EQ (just got the Loki Max today) or just stay with the stock HM pads. If the goal was to make the Sus more like the TC or LCD-5, great, but I now have 5 and these are both keepers along with the P.
For sure don't sweat it and go full on EQ'ing instead of pad rolling if you feel like it! :)

I should have probably said right from the start that pad rolling is better to be avoided if:
  1. You love your Susvara as is.
  2. You prefer owning many flagships headphones to get different flavours, instead of having one as-optimized-as-possible headphone.
  3. You do not have a specific sound signature you are leaning towards.
  4. You prefer to correct for any sonic issues by using EQ.
  5. You already burn way too much cash on amp/DAC/cabling/tube/... rolling.
  6. You do not find the idea of DIY/modding/tweaking your headphones enjoyable.
On the other, I might also highlight some reasons why I find the idea of pad rolling exciting:
  • While very difficult to get an optimal room for speakers, you can easily optimize the space (room) between headphone drivers and your head with ear pads.
  • Tweaking in acoustic domain can often be more effective and less expensive than trying to compensate for issues in analog or digital domain. (See 4. and 5. above.)
  • You can get various flavours of your favourite headphone, basically multiple headphones at once!
  • I have yet to hear a headphone perfectly tuned to my liking by a manufacturer, stock ear pads being the culprit most of the time...
As for the Eikon Hybrid pads, people just shouldn't have unrealistic expectations. The pads make the headphone more hardhitting in bass, less soft and diffuse in timbre, and more neutral tonally. However, this automatically implies less treble presence/air, less easygoing/soothing sound, and less spacious soundstage (the larger the ear pads cavity, the harder to keep the sound balanced).

I love the tonal qualities of cans like Auteur or HD6x0, and timbral qualities of headphones such as HE-500/HE-6 or LCD-4. I dig the super-open sound of HD800's cups and grills. And, to some extend, I enjoy the lightning fast transients and cleanness of Stax headphones. All of this I hear mixed in my Susvara with Eikon Hybrid pads without the dust covers. I just strive for balance of everything, rather than owning multiple headphones for multiple extremes of sound. (e.g. AB-1266 TC for extremely physical sound and SR-009S for extremely ethereal sound.)

But I can't speak for everyone obviously. I can just say that none of the following pads worked nearly as good for me on Susvara, given my stated goals:

Non-perforated (p)leather
  • Hifiman old pleather (supplied with most of the oldschool Hifimans incl. HE-6)
  • Dekoni AKG K Series sheepskin
  • Mrspeakers (DCA) ether flow angled
  • Verum non-perforated pleather
  • ZMF Auteur solid leather
  • Audeze leather
Perforated (p)leather
  • Mrspeakers (DCA) ether 2 perforated (only perforated on the inside)
  • ZMF Universe perforated leather
  • ZMF Auteur perforated leather
  • ZMF Eikon perforated leather
Non-perforated hybrid
  • ZMF Universe hybrid solid
  • ZMF Eikon hybrid solid
  • ZMF Verite BE2 hybrid solid
Perforated hybrid
  • Dekoni Fostex TH900 elite hybrid (only perforated on the inside)
  • Dekoni Hifiman elite hybrid (only perforated on the inside)
  • Hifiman Harmony (stock Susvara pads, only perforated on the inside)
Velour
  • Hifiman "ancient" velour (glued transparent plastic rings)
  • Hifiman old velour (supplied with most of the oldschool Hifimans incl. HE-6)
  • ZMF Universe perforated suede
  • Dekoni ATH-AD elite velour
Let's see how ZMF Auteur Hybrid Solid and Dekoni Susvara Elite Hybrid pads work out once they arrive next week!

When someone want the Eikon Hybrids with ring located in EU pm me. I will not mount something with double sided glue or something else on a 7k headphone. Maybe someone has more luck to mount them.
Cost me over 100€ with customs!
