I can get a used Cayin IHA-6 for around $500, I think that may be a good start?

I think raggy v1 may be a better choice than that for not much more, but that is just speculation on my part

still burning in the Susvara and driving it currently out of my "underpowered" M30 while waiting for my new Ferrum-rig.
Impressed though about the really dedicated sound impressions I am getting between the mixes where I was at one moment thinking oh my, it's lacking body and bass and at the next moment it's all there, this can really renders the music mixes so realistically than anything I've been listening to so far it seems.
Listening now to e.g. "Haux, The War" is giving such a nice sub bass heart beating thump and nice spherical feather light vocals and accompanying instruments, effects, that I am wishing no more V-shaped signature.
Also I have the feeling that the signature has changed drastically after the first 24h non-stop playback letting the drivers move freely and feeling less compressed and thin.
Some songs tend to have a slight tendency to sibilance on M30 with the likes of Adele with higher volumes.
Curious how that will or won't change with proper amplification

How did you guys commit to buying a certain amp? I have a shortlist of amps ranging from $1100 (Burson soloist 3Xp) to about $5500 (Enleum 23-R) and I just can’t commit to buying any of them. Did you guys go by reviews? Trade show demos? I only have reviews and worth of mouth to go by.
As i was never going to be able to demo many, if any, hp amps and i have pretty much agreed with @project86 reviews i mostly used this review and bought the us4 and have been extremely happy and won’t be needing to buy another solid state amp again

I feel the WA33 EE JPS is much better than the HSA1B for the Susvaras. Better soundstage, dynamics, bass, etc. The HSA1b sounds less crisp and detailed too. The WA33 costs more than the HSA1b, so I guess that should be taken into consideration too
3 times as much lol

Pay attention to what I said. We are not discussing the same thing.

Also, if you think this power output would work well with the Susvara, I say you should go for it.

1900mW@33Ω. Obviously even less into 60 ohms.

actually the hsa-1b does a pretty darn good job with the susvara...surprisingly so....not as good as my bakoon 13r but pretty good....I cant speak tto the wa33 but I assume it certainly should fare better as well

Just joined the club! So excited to be getting these (and for an insane deal too!). So now I get to bug you guys even more  starting with two questions:
- I read the default cables suck. What would are people around here replacing them with?
- Just to keep an eye on the classifieds, what is the latest entry-level amp that people are recommending with these? I'll try to go through the thread and read up (promise!) but there's been a lot of lower priced, powerful amps coming out this year and I'm wondering which you think is the best bang for the buck when it comes to driving the Susvaras.

Thanks!

Awesome I'll look. Are these better suited for the Susvaras than say, an A90 or a Burson Soloist? (already have a decent DAC forgot to mention).

Norne Vykari. One of the best (if not the best) sounding cables at the moment. Too bad Trevor had run out of stock for a foreseeable future.

Unless you really can't stand the stock cable, (which isn't that bad tbf...), use the money you have budgeted towards cable towards a better amp/dac, that will have a much bigger impact on SQ

Agree 100%. A heart cable (assuming you can't stand the ergonomics) + a better amp is a much better way to go

Ok awesome! I'll definitely do that, try the cable first and then decide. Now just have to find that amp...
