What are your findings on the new Hifiman Mini Shangri-la headphones? I haven't been able to listen to them in Munich myself.

Additionally, I understand that a new flagship headphone is being announced.

Thats the same joke I made with a friend, I feel like they just slapped the shangrila name on it and called it a day for marketing

Even if these are their "entry" tier estats, those atrocious headbands shouldn't be used...

Yeah the Jade line has a bad reputation and they wanted a more unified branding line-up for their estats but lets wait for the reviews or hopefully I can listen to it at Canjam London next month to confirm my suspicions.

Instead they now decided to stain the Name Shangri-La with it.

This headphone sounds far from good.

Not sure which pricetag is the Real one, but Hifiman themselves have many better sounding headphones at that price or lower

Thanks Hifiman, I would have never known how to get my future Shangri La Mini to start playing music without this instructional video...

So 16000CYN is about 2200USD. I guess the retail in the US market might be 2500USD? I wonder how much the headphones on their own might be. 1500USD? less? I never heard the Jade 2's sadly, but I'm really curious about these. If they retain a good soundstage and big audio image like the SR's, just with less detail (add a bit bass via EQ) they might be a really compelling option. TBD, I suppose.

According to the page on HeadAmp, the bundle is $2300 with the headphone being $1100 on its own and the amp $1500 on its own. Somewhat interesting to me since I've never owned an egg-shaped Hifiman or one with the Gen4 headband. Since I already have the Jr, maybe I should go with the Mini-Shang for the collection, but on the other hand, I don't know if it would be worth it given that I have the Jr already.
