Listening seriously to 2.004 and it sounds excellent, I think the soundstage is bigger. Though a/bing firmware is impossible to do properly.

I find 2.004 intro noise to some tracks I m familiar with.. Revert back to 2.003 and the noise is gone.

No, when I updated to the latest FW so I can play DSD files, as all mine the file type that would not play, I hear a very slight sound, which is a relay. It doesn't affect the sound and is so slight that most of the time it is never noticed.

Did you hear the relay click in the headphones / IEMs or directly? I hear a relay click every time I start and stop playing music, but this comes from the DAP itself, not through the headphones / IEMs. I expect HiFiMan decided to cut off power to the amp card when no music is playing in order to let the battery last longer.

i tried the IEM card and my balanced card on my TG334 and the balanced card sound much better then the IEM card

The S version has 3 second startup time, faster CPU and an extra clock for USB DAC function IIRC. The U version is a refurbished HM901. Also note that the amp card that comes with the DAPs are different.

The 3 seconds start up time is a trick because the power off acts like a sleep mode (so be carefull if you do not use the player for a while).
In the options menu you can perform a proper shut down, and when you turn it on it does not take 3 seconds !
