Hifiman HM1000: Worlds first Quad PCM 1704 DAP

Today I played around with the lineout feature of the HMK, and how it is comparing with with its headphone out. I used my trust HUM Hypno. If I cannot ever use this as a proper DAP, I can say as a DAC this thing rocks! So much more dynamic, so much more detail, I just love it.
Hi! Much more dynamic and detail compared to what? Headphone out? Or another DAC you directly compared it with?

Compared to its headphone out.
Well, I don’t think that I like hearing that. Both outputs should be on par in this price class.
I don’t know, I have the feeling that Hifiman runs one marathon after another but fails to finish the last few miles. Why don’t they just make one DAC/DAP „right“ from the beginning and release it after it had some secret beta testers who give their thumbs up? Instead their pricey products stay in the „beta firmware“ state. Well, let’s wait and drink tee

Sadly, my HM1000 has to go back due to BT malfunctioning. It must be my bad luck. As much as I love the sound of PCM1704, it is time for me to accept their end of life and look elsewhere.

As much as I wanted to review and talk about HM1000, sadly I cannot, and that hurts me. To HFM defence, they did tell me this product is not ready, and they did tell me to be patient. But to my defence, I expect at the very least the BT would be stable.

Outch. I am no technician - but I am wondering why HFM is struggling so much with a good BT implementation? If Fiio can make it, why can't they? It's mostly technology made by other companies anyway?

What about your R2R2000? You don't like it anymore?

I was under the impression that you had to trade in your R2R2000 for them to use the DAC chips in the HM1000.
