Question, what is the reason for owning more than one pair of the same headphone?

Do you run them with different pads?
Because I didn't have a good amp back then and I sold the second pair. My first pair had a stuck membrane issue.
I just purchased CMA15 and that should be very good for HE6se. But I will have to wait for the price drop down.

Crazy that they doubled in price seemingly out of nowhere. Who shifts a price from 399 to 799?

Congrats to the people who got them for 400!
suck, one of my best friends was going to pull the plug today...

IMO it means they are low on stock so they want to cash in. Either they get a new shipment, or the v3 is coming down the pike...

Sometimes the open box ones pop up too and they are discounted.
Sometimes the "open box" ones which are discounted are BNIB :)

To paraphrase the American Revolutionary War quote… don’t pull the trigger until you see them below $400…
When they get to $399.95 you need to be using an M16 on full auto. Spray and pray! :D

How powerful of an amp do you really need to drive these?

I’ve considered ordering them (if they drop back down to $399), but if I have to spend $1000 on an amp anyways, then I might as well just spend the extra on an Arya Stealth instead, since that will probably work well on my Topping L30.

You will need a speaker amp or a $2k headphone amp for HE6se.
Arya Stealth would be anemic on L30, you want at least A90 for proper amping.

I'm having a great time with the Emotiva BasX A2m. 8W@50ohms for $350, more than enough power at a totally reasonable price.

My Topping A30 Pro isn’t breaking a sweat with the HE6… high gain around 12 o’clock on the volume dial.

I use a Jotunheim 2 and have no complaints. Just wish my tube amps could power them :frowning2:

It sounds fantastic on my Audeze Deckard, crank up 80-ish percent on high gain for LOUD but it gets too loud for me if I try to go all the way...

So yeah, I would say 2 watts or more is the key.

I would like a touch more headroom there but I love the Deckard's sound and it does a beautiful job with this and all my other headphones. It is such an amazing headphone where I can understand why people try to get as much out of it and/or buy separate amps for it.

There is no other headphone ever which has me crank it so much.
