Oh, it's not within warranty, and I am not the original owner, nor do I have a receipt.
It is also much more comfortable in its current state, which is the best part, hah. It was a little small with the headband expanded all the way and I guess my constant pulling of it finally caused it to give. Which, in turn, gave me much more room to adjust, lol. It just looks like hell.
EDIT: HiFiMAN has been pretty great - in fact, when I had my HE1000 v2 and needed to replace the leather suspension strap that was worn out, I almost had to fight with them to prove it wasn't under warranty. They charged me for it, but it got delivered to the wrong address. So they sent me another, no fuss.
The headband I need is also out of stock, so there's that. Hah.
