Good Lord! That's some headphone pornography there.
yeah, man. It even has the titties.
it is so beautiful yet made me feel so poor. I'll never get to even hear something like that, much less own it.

I felt the same way when I started in the hobby some years ago. I got creative with my spending and was able to get some high dollar items. You can do it!

Believe me - what you are hearing now at home is already 90-95% of the maximum possible. Therefore, I wish you just to enjoy the music! The rest is not so important anymore)

Thats true. And prices per unit of quality are trending down. What we need is many more people interested in the hobby to drive down prices. Only so many $3500+ headphones you can sell, and there are a lot of HP makers nowadays. Things like Arya Stealth for $1299, Meze 109 Pro for $799, and even HE1000 for $1999 are bring down the barrier to entry, which will lead to more people geeking on new gear and feigning for it like we audiophiles are want to do.

Sorry, maybe the question is off topic, but I have to ask it. Have you ever compared Viva Egoista 2a3 with other tube amplifiers? For example: Auris Nirvana, Cayin HA-300 MK2, Feliks Envy, Viva Egoista 845, Trafomatic Audio Primavera. I will be grateful if you share your impressions.

Some tube head amps are too long ago due to system/headphone changes to be able to provide any meaningful comparisons to my Viva, not to mention different tube types which really change things. My prior two tube headphone amps were Eddie Current Zana Deux Super, and before that Dragon Inspire IHA-1. I liked the IHA-1, loved the Eddie Current, which was a fairly significant bump up in sound quality over the Dragon Inspire, and then the Viva was yet another relatively large (on an audiophile scale) bump up from the Eddie Current and is my end game amp, unless Viva comes out with some new product that is a clear step up.

I've discovered directly heated triode tubes (DHT) are what really takes things to very highest levels for my given sonic preferences.

For context, I like what I call a "modern tube gear sound", which I define as really detailed and exceptionally transparent, while retaining all the tube qualities- improved sound staging, more body and three dimensionality and more organic/natural sounding). I don't enjoy amps that have the more old school "classic" tube sound (focus on warmth/mids at the expense of detail and rolling off of the high and low frequencies). I like tube gear, where, if you were blindfolded, you couldn't know for certain the amp was tube or solid state. If someone shares that preference then Viva is a line to put on your radar. I also have a Viva Linea preamp in my speaker system which beat out some exceptionally good preamps in head to head comparisons in my system, so I am a fan of the brand. Therefore take my enthusiasm with a grain of salt :relaxed: .

Sorry for the detour..
