HIFIMAN HE-R10 Closed-Back Headphones Discussion & Impressions

I think most people rely on reviews and measurements. There are a few quite bad reviews out there like a couple from headphone show on youtube.
I honestly doubt that they really tried them and simply rate every closed headphone badly.
I tried the susvara and the R10P and picked the R10P.
But I understand that people who are used to more analytical, super stronge trebles prefer the susvara.
For me it was fatiguing and the open design only works in a very quiet environment that I cant find anywhere in my house or at work or when I travel..
I payed over 4000$ for mine and I would pay it again. But I don't need two, unfortunately.

Is there a differnce in the updated version that I have with metal headclamp vs the initial version that you offer?

For those who, like me, love the sound of the excellent HER10D I recommend you listen to them with the iBasso DC-Elite... truly an incredible synergy!!!

It's a good pair of HP for price with the right gear. I'm listening to my R10D with a Chord Mscaler connected to a Chord MOJO and love it. Connect the same HPs to my $$$$ Chord Dave and I prefer the MOJO.

You would be correct. The R10P's are toned down, but still retain all the clarity, all details, you would expect from a Hifiman headphone. The bass is also spectacular.

The HEKse's have great bass as well, but the treble presentation of this headphone can overshadow that fact for some. I like it, but I'm a detail freak with some high frequency hearing loss. The R10P's don't have this issue.
@Slim1970 , ordered the R10P. Very excited. Happy HEKse owner. But want a tad more bass and no major treble loss with this HP. Does it have more treble than ZMF AC? Do you know?
Thanks

Did you compare your R10P to TH900? Or was that somewhere else that I read?

Would love someone to compare the two in terms of bass and treble quantity. Quality not necessary. Based on my HEKse I know enough there.

Different headphones. The TH-900's have big bass, but it's flabby and loose in comparison to the R10P's. The TH-900's have a brighter treble with a v-shaped tuning. The R10P's are much better balanced with a more present and nuanced midrange. The bass is tighter, just as impactful with more sub bass extension. They are easily the superior headphone technically thanks to addition of the stealth magnets, cost aside.

Thanks. Is the treble quantity a lot less than th900? Or just somewhat? Is it more than typical ZMF tuning?

The tuning is slightly warmer, but just as detailed, if not more than the TH-900's. I think you will enjoy the R10P's with more music genres in my opinion.

I'm buying One used. It comes with the cartoon / Brown box instead of luxury big black box. What's the differenze? Does the newer HE-R10D comes with this cheap box?
