Well I finally got a reply from Mrs T. She told me that I had already signed for the package. Wow, I live in AL and my headphones are in CA, and I've signed for the package? That along with the tracking number she was referring to was all she said. The message seemed very cold. The problem is the tracking number she was referring to was for a pair of replacement headpads for the he-5s I received a month ago. So I corrected her and sent a copy of my receipt which shows the "correct" address and gave her the "correct" tracking number. And guess what.....have not heard back from her. No apology or willingness to accept responsibility, nothing.  And to make matters worse, initially the tracking info said "rescheduled for for delivery as agreed", but now the shipment has been placed on hold. So now I need to make another phone call to dhl. This has been one of the biggest headaches. I know 1000.00 might not be much to some, but for me it's way too much money to spend(on headphones no less) to have this level of customer service and incompetence.

Absolutely!  At least yours have been shipped.  After almost 2 weeks since ordering, they can't get mine out the door.  Lost the order.  I was promised a tracking number yesterday, but nothing.  Crazy.

Update.  Just got an email from Fang (he's in China) and they were shipped yesterday with 3 day express which is bound to be very expensive.  He is making an effort to make this right, gotta give him that.

Wow, I'm sorry. You're situation is actually worse than mine. I hope you get some kind of compensation for that mess. Well, me too. But I doubt it. I haven't heard back from Mrs T. Since my last reply, and have not heard from head direct at all. And I have sent them several email.

Well one thing is for sure, in about a week after some break-in you will even forgive Ms T. And you will really know why you got your Woo WA5 even though it was just blind luck or so it was for me.
Now all you need is a nos matched pair of original WE300B's and a nos matched pair of TSRPBG 6SN7GT for your amp. And of course a pair of EML 5U4G mesh plates for your P/S.

I was too quick to compliment dhl. After confirmation my package would be shipped to the right address, and that I would receive it today, it was placed on hold last night. Called them back, they told me it would be taken care of. So after that, it was shipped the LA. Now this morning it has been placed on hold again. I tried contacting Mrs T again and still no response. It's like we have your money, so now you're on your own. I'm really contemplating returning these as soon as I get them and do what should have done the first time and buy some headphones from a "reputable" company. Unless I'm absolutely wowed, that's what I think I'm going to do. But based on how things have been taking place I might not even get my money back.

Wow... mistakes can happen, but that's a really horrible story. In your position I'd probably file a claim via paypal. You should at least get your money back.
In a case like this, a company should move heaven and earth to put things right, no matter if its a small one one such as hifiman.

I ordered a HE-6 a few days ago. I admit your story makes me doubt my decision a bit. Well, perhaps I'm just being paranoid.

while i've not had to deal with them about a purchase of this magnitude i have dealt with Ms. T (misty?

) as well as Fang ('Nankai'). sometimes she's very prompt in replying, sometimes it takes more time. sooner or later i've always heard back. i see Fang at least a couple of times a year at meets. they do seem interesting in making things right so i'd hang in there. perhaps you might want to cc Fang in your emails so that he's in the loop. while they both speak english, it's not their native tongue and i sometimes wonder if some of the communication issues are a combination of language and cultural issues, as well as them having other obligations and commitments. i don't know if ms. T does this full time or not. Fang has any number of obligations as i believe he just finished his phd in the usa and is planning on moving back to china in the next few months. this may allow him to keep closer tabs on production.

Could someone link me to any reviews of the HE-6 by Head-Fi'ers in this thread? I can't seem to find any and browsing is making my head hurt.

take some tylenol, back up about 60-70 pages in this thread and get back to reading.

there has been some pretty serious love going on for this can (although not universal, of course). for example immtbiker, who has owned and/or lived with virtually all of the top cans, picks this over almost all the others (except for possibly the r10 & jade). here are some (mostly love) links - this should give you some idea of initial takes, some with comparisons, especially with the lcd2:

I think you are probably right.  Looking forward to driving it out of the K1000 jack.  I have the TSRPBG's and a pair of EML 5u4g but can't quite swing the WE300b's yet - still using Sophia's while saving my pennies.

yes, I am a small business person myself and can understand how these things happen.  I am sure it's a learning process for him, just hate that me moodyrn and I are some of the customers he has to learn on.

I'm a fan of the Caribbean rosewood trim but I'll go with the HE-6 for performance once they get their product perfected or HE-7 or 8 or 9 .......

Has anyone noticed the LCD-2 looks like an ugly copy of HE-5 cosmetically? Aduze never made planars before HE-5 were released.

Actually, they don't look a thing alike, to me, beyond both being open headphones.  And I speak as someone who owned both at the same time.
