10w into 8 ohm is 2.5w into 32 ohm /1.25w into 64 ohm right? Kinda iffy for HE-6 IMO

You're right, I don't know how that amp delegates power between voltage and current into a given load, that's why I said iffy, no need to get sniffy

I'm just glad it works for you, sounds like it works well.

I am always linear except when I not. A rule of thumb is always handy but just a starting point, which is what I believe it was, just a starting point. Yep, what is the voltage and current. If it works that is all that matters even if it was an iPod that somehow worked. When the nano tube batteries come out in a few years an iPod could be plenty powerful enough. But by then it will be a totally different phone. . :^)

In this hobby I've discovered a long time ago that if it sounds good stick with it. I've heard some system that cost more than my house. The cables alone cost a few thousands and this was in the mid 90s.

I once sat about 7 feet in front of to the left of center in a lazy boy chair with my brother in another one to the right of me. The speakers where some horn models from Radio Shack and the amp, I don't remember. He was playing "Appalachian Spring" by Copland on an LP. The sound was excellent. There was imaging and depth. I didn't understand it because the speakers where on the floor and nothing was right and yet everything was. The sound sparkled and we just listened and totally enjoyed. The system probably cost 5 or 6 hundred. If there is synergy, there is synergy and I couldn't argue with that.

On Head-Direct web site it says on the HE-6 page:

Accessories
OCC(single crystal copper) 4pin XLR cable *1 (2 m / 6 ft)
OCC XLR to 6.5mm headphone plug adapter *1 (1m / 3 ft)
Headphone cable connector *2
Earpad for backup *1

Does this mean that all this incuded in the box? So I get the regular cable and also a 4pin XLR cable? This would be great!

based on that quote I would say you get an XLR headphone cable and an adapter from XLR to SE for single ended operation

Yes of course. I was just amazed that a balanced cable was the stock one. I got confused :) But, great!
Well, I guess HD is trying to tell me something..

I just finished upgrading the caps on my Sophia amp, incredible bass on this little amp now from the HE-6.

Just listening to Lou Reed's "Take A Walk On The Wild Side" which has a beautiful string bass, I can easily follow the bass
with excellent definition and detail.

Mine didn't include the extra earpad too. I emailed to head-direct and hope to get one soon.

When I received mine, the extra earpad was not included. I emailed Ms. T. and they shipped me one.
